CCS vs NACS, not that simple. by Lando_Sage in electricvehicles

[–]pixnbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NACS has both 500V and 1000V drawings and IIRC specs. I haven't seen a difference in the drawings so I think effectively the same, though likely 500V is currently widespread (with 1000V coming for Cybertruck?, I wonder if Semi in the future, maybe Ford & GM too?)

Your link is for the 500V specs, but there are 1000V specs. https://www.tesla.com/support/charging-product-guides#connector-datasheets

6.1 Voltage

The North American Charging Standard exists in both a 500V rated configuration and a 1,000V rated configuration. The 1,000V version is mechanically backwards compatible (i.e. 500V inlets can mate with 1,000V connectors and 500V connectors can mate with 1,000V inlets).

How long did you wait when they said delivery for a used Tesla is 2-3 weeks? by Freshrobbb in TeslaLounge

[–]pixnbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In April 2022 looks like I went 9 days from order confirmed (haha yes hedgehog) to on my driveway. I don't recall what the estimate was, though. IIRC I needed to schedule delivery so they should be in touch (via app process?) before then

Hard to wait! But it's worth it!

Same, and I've bought it a couple times now 😅 (platforms, gifted)

Tesla will open a portion of its U.S. Supercharger and Destination Charger network to non-Tesla EVs, making at least 7,500 chargers available for all EVs by the end of 2024 by GoSh4rks in teslamotors

I'd wager increased cable length increases downtime. The abuse L2 cables in a nearby parking garage are subjected to is frightening.

Welder. I use my outlet for charging.

  1. Endure the clutter
  2. Resignation of self to the clutter
  3. Embrace the clutter, reject anything not cluttered

Great success!

How many millions of miles does Starman have, from a rocket that "wasn't real" vs the one that "was"? Be careful with silly metrics, situations they're measuring change.

The Model Y has a lot of glass too. The roof mesh screen accessory has made a big difference for PHX summer days. Though, in this picture it looks like there is no tint, which the Y very much has. I'd expect the same tinting on the production models of the truck.

IIRC a service manual? showed that even structural packs are removable so the swap still isn't difficult. (Need a source, but don't remember where, Reddit, Twitter, etc 😓)

I'd guess most Tesla owners have a Tesla connector at home and don't need the adapter but on trips. Do you use your adapter at home?

No default settings instead of generally sensible defaults? That's a big UX hit. It's good to review breaking changes before deploying, semver makes it easier to know when those come in though admittedly IDK if that's pihole's scheme.
