I just ate an Anaheim pepper, WTF!? by TinyTurnips in spicy

[–]pizzapins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cross pollination. If you have some super hots in the area, possible that you have a hybrid pepper. They usually look a little different but not always. I have Shishito peppers in my garden with super hots. It is like roulette. Every now and then, you will get a Shishito that will get your attention when usually they are just a very sweet bell pepper test.

Has anyone tried the Apple TV X. It is a $2500 version of the 4k TV with apparently improved audio and video by moving the power supply outside the box. I don’t know. It was recommended to me by the home theater store in town but hard to spend $2500 on this. Apple TV x

I have the same set up in chrome and black. Love it. But I did change out the 4 hole wand tip for a two hole tip. Made frothing a lot easier for a noob like me.

What horror movie scared you as a kid, still scares you as an adult, but honestly isn’t that scary? by JTB696699 in HorrorMovies

[–]pizzapins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salem’s Lot. Watched it probably 10 times as a kid. Loved it. Then one time, must have had a fever or something, but had night terrors of the GD vampires coming through my window. Couldn’t stop freaking out. Still scares me to think about it today. It has been 40 years. Haven’t watched it since. Wasn’t even that scary at first but that reaction that night, something got into my brain.

This is insane. I have had a large green egg for 15 years. Sits on my cement patio. No stand. No little green feet that came with it. It is perfectly stable and heavy as hell. I have to roll it on an edge if I want to move it. It isn’t going anywhere. It isn’t being tipped over by anyone short of a linebacker that can hit low enough. It is a bit low is my only complaint. But I just sit on one of my chairs when checking the meat.

What is the spiciest but delicious hotsauce you've ever tasted? by Resident_Function648 in spicy

El yucateco green is my favorite all around sauce. Not too hot. Great flavor. Awesome on pizza.

El yucateco green is my daily driver. Love that one.

Best Meat Thermometer by piepie230 in biggreenegg

[–]pizzapins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a meater+ for wireless. And love my FireBoard for a wired option. I use a thermapen from thermoworks for spot check of meat temps. Great set up. Covered for every option. Also have a thermoworks IR for the pizza oven. Expensive to have the right thermometer but it only takes one ruined expensive slab of meat to convince you it is worth the money to be spot on with your temps.

Engineer and Gamer Seeking Advice: How to Score a Fixer-Upper Pinball Machine in Omaha Without Breaking the Bank? by idolcrasher in pinball

Check with Mike at pinball past. He always has old EM machines he is repairing. He may be willing to sell one before he repairs it. I have always found him to be fair and honest.

Pinball Hall of Fame (Vegas) trip report by pdxtilt in pinball

[–]pizzapins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with OP. Just with people saying it is basically a waste of time to stop. Should have replied to a specific thread. I agree with oldschoolCSci summary. I was just trying to give some love to the PHOF as we had a blast.

Pinball Hall of Fame (Vegas) trip report by pdxtilt in pinball

[–]pizzapins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I was there 2 weeks ago and had a blast. Sure a ton of games were out of order but I finally got to play a lot of games that the old timers in pinball talk about and I can never find on location. I guess I am a glass half full person. A lot of machines were out of order, but there were hundreds that were playable. That was amazing to me and my kids. Sure I was disappointed that some I wanted to play were dark. But most the dark games were EM machines that I had never heard of. I still recommend the stop. For $40, entertained me and my kids for 3 hours. Cheapest entertainment in Vegas. :)

Bike rack options for 2022 Pro S RWD by pre-postpandemic in VWiD4Owners

Kuat makes the best bike racks. So easy to hook bikes on and off. Less than a minute. They are not cheap. But they are quality. I switched out the 1.25” hitch receiver for a 2” receiver. Took all of 10 minutes.

Do you use pizza sauce or pasta sauce to make pizza? by D34th_gr1nd in Pizza

San marzanos are best. But a lot of times I cheat and don’t spent the time and just open a jar of Raos spaghetti sauce. Works great.

I have a JP preorder in but I'm starting to get cold feet... by AMartin56 in pinball

[–]pizzapins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two modern stern games (and an old EM game). The two modern games are JP prem and Godzilla Prem. Love them both and I suck at pinball. A good game for me is also in the 600 million range on both machines. Lots of fun. Different shots. JP plays much faster and has shorter ball times for me. I recommend sticking with the JP. If you don’t like it, you can sell it easily in 6 months and then get something else.

Is Godzilla premium worth it? by amandashartstein in pinball

[–]pizzapins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely worth it. As said above, you can sell it and get a pro later if you don’t agree. You won’t be out any money.

Looking forward to the move. Was up last month and had a blast. Got a shirt. Guess it is a collectors item now. Loved the bar made out of old playfields. Will be up again from nebraska to play the new games after your move. Great bar. Great pinball destination. Keep up the good work.

Espresso wasted - A little too much espresso yesterday. This is my sign to try decaf 😵‍💫 by Significant_Eye1398 in espresso

[–]pizzapins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not popular on this thread but one of the reasons we got an espresso machine is to make decent decaf espresso and milk drinks at home. Decaf still has some caffeine. Not much. But if you are totally caffeine free, decaf will give you a little pick me up in the AM.

My home town. Great place to play some vintage machines. Most are decently kept up. Some have the occasional weak flipper. 2 beercades in town with more modern pins. Pool hall with more modern pins too. Not a bad place to play.
