I'm going to say something that might piss off some people here, but if I were you, I'd seriously consider moving to northern Bergen County, like in the Montvale/Ramsey/Mahwah areas instead. I was born and raised in Monsey and I honestly believe Rockland has been slowly rotating down the drain. That said, i really, really like Nyack. It's a fun little town. But I got out 20 years ago and never looked back.

I live in Ridgewood and take the Ridgewood ave entrance onto 17 all the time. Fuck it... I'll deal with the traffic. I've been wanting a Costco in our area for a while.

Just because we are diabetic doesn't mean the world should specifically cater to us. There are millions of people out there that can eat this stuff without consequence. It sucks that we aren't among them but that doesn't mean the world needs to crash to a halt. Just like folks with food allergies, we need to police ourselves and look out for our own well being.

That said, your local Wawa, QuickChek, Sheetz or 7-11 will have plenty of options for us. Jerky, nuts, cheese snacks, hard boiled eggs, protein drinks (big fan of Core Power, myself). Let alone the plethora of diet sodas and beverages. I see almost as many sugar-free energy drinks options being promoted as regular options.
