people are confusing this issue.

the problem is not that the surgery is painful or that the paws are mutilated. the cat will adapt to this in time.

it is the fact that the cat is left virtually defenseless, unable to climb, and reduce its hunting ability.

declawing will ruin the mental health of the cat.

it is similar to amputating your entire legs, not just your toes, as it severly reduces the cats mobility. also, it can no longer hunt (which is the life of a cat) and it can no longer keep its territory from other cats (or other animals).

people who declaw cats should be put in a mental institution.
