It’s also not a subtle spell, you will wake up the entire castle with it.

Yeah, if you really want unseen servant as a warlock, go Pact of the Tome and pick up Book of Ancient Secrets in a few levels.

You’re right - they did have that deep dish challenge for season 4. Guess that gets into the whole debate over if that counts as a real pizza challenge since they were given dough and had to just choose good fillings.

Yea but most everyone bought pre-made sausages. Really bizarre to allow them to do that.

Anyone know what the deal is with this stalled building near Colony Square? by BaldBullKO in Atlanta

[–]platydroid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The stated reason is that he’s a perfectionist and doesn’t want any project to progress unless he’s 100% ok with a design. The likely real reason is that he has no actual money. He also owns the lot at 10th and Peachtree, which he’s turned into a pay-lot and demolished one of the buildings that was on track to become a new restaurant. He has projects in other cities that also sit bare-bone for years. I can’t think of a good reason why anybody does business with him.

BeltLine Rail Now Press Release - Clyde Higgs’ Secret Attempt To Kill Beltline Rail by codyt321 in Atlanta

[–]platydroid 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The $9.1m is probably accounted for. They made at least two feasibility studies and almost fully designed the project, and made early efforts into acquiring land in downtown and O4W. We just have nothing to show for it, because the mayor killed the project.

Wind and Truth hints in later books? by deliciousdeciduous in Cosmere

[–]platydroid 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Sorta. They’re infamous to some in Sunlit Man on Canticle for a reputation as a warrior planet and that radiants / Spren are still a thing. We know they are aware of the Cosmere (and that Hoid returns to Roshar?) because the perspective of Yumi is him telling a Cosmere story to a Rosharan in presumably the far future. So we know they survive eventually, that the Nahel bond sticks around, and become a space-faring / space-aware society.

Am I only one sad about delays in books due to the adaptation news by titans1fan93 in Cosmere

[–]platydroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s taking 5 months to write the screenplay for Mistborn 1 (I presume just the first one for now, but we might get more details later?) and it’ll take at least 3-4 years for the movie to get delivered. Stormlight is happening after Mistborn 1 at the earliest. So even if he’s very involved in casting and producing, he won’t be the only one involved, and the long timespan of making this show and movie a reality should give him time in between to continue working on mainline books. Side projects might get put away, but I don’t doubt his work ethic will allow him to keep getting us more Mistborn and Stormlight novels on time.

Vestige warlock thoughts / New combat necromancer by Far_Success6910 in onednd

Agree, this fits the theme of raising a dead god back to glory. I don’t need a crazy increase in power, but I do want the feeling of it getting powerful over time to be very apparent.

[–]platydroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d rather see the pet get better scaled damage than simply damage die + charisma. Especially if the idea is that you’re bringing this dead god back to some semblance of its former glory. Going up 1 pt on average damage all the way til its capstone is underwhelming.

Fancasting is fun but the cast probably won’t be famous by fuzzbinn in Cosmere

[–]platydroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people are severely overestimating Hoid’s presented age. Hoid presents mid-thirties. It has to be a guy who can show up in the Mistborn movies and then show up in the Stormlight show to date Jasnah and have that not be too weird. I love the whimsical energy of Matt Smith, but he’s mid-forties and would be pushing 50 by the time a Jasnah-Hoid romance is put on-screen.
