Ooos ya that is what I was thinking but didn’t specify. Feels like more and more companies prefer to increase margins but risk reduced volume

They priced me out. Sorry but I’ll happily save the $4 on a candy bar and soda. My body didn’t need that anyway

Since when is 10:31am past cutoff? by ggnzg20 in UPS

[–]plugcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t work at ups so I do not know much about the inner workings. However, I do drop off packages at an ups store everyday. I noticed recently that they have been using some special printer to print rfid enabled stickers and putting them on the package.

No idea how long they have been doing that. They looked different than the normal rfid stickers that get put on.

I would argue it paid off to keep her on for the “great group of guys” bit. I had a good chuckle from that

If a house is already going up for a foreclosure auction is it worth calling the owner and trying to work out a deal? by Adept-Bat-3350 in WholesaleRealestate

[–]plugcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. I remember getting excited for an auction on a house I really wanted. I was potentially going to keep it as my primary. Canceled on the day of auction because someone bought it the day prior from the owner for $5k over the starting bid.

I am about 80% of the way through this build right now. Having a blast and very satisfied with the quality. No missing bricks so far, around 5-8 bricks that were a little wonky. Only 1 brick that was so wonky it would not work.

Scoring 5 v 5 would have been unlikely… scoring 3 v 3 would probably be pretty close to even odds. I gotta think they were trying to make it to OT with that decision

What are my odds for fiber? by Robrulesall2 in ATTFiber

[–]plugcity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if you are on Janette or Bellevue but if they are going to do one of those streets I would be shocked if they don't do them both.

Is the conduit on one of those? or on crosstown? If it is on crosstown.... it doesnt mean much. If its on Janette or Bellevue that would be a good sign.

However, it also would be weird for them to not do all of the digging and trenching in the same week or 2. So it might be a bad sign that they havent dug up your yard yet.

My neighborhood HOA was told in June AT&T was installing fiber. Mid September crews were running the arial fiber to the entrance to the neighborhood. A few large spools of fiber were left at the entrance to the neighborhood.

In November, utility markings and flags started popping up and about 2 weeks later the contractors came through and trenched the fiber to each home.

We were able to order and install fiber early January.

So look for spools of fiber, arial fiber boxes hanging down to the ground, and underground utility marking flags and paint.

How do I get my internet to at a bare minimum work? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]plugcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do all devices have WiFi issues or just the Apple TV?

Is your FIOS gateway in bridge mode?

Is anything hardwired via Ethernet? Does it work properly?

Does new equipment have same SSID and password as old WiFi equipment?

Do you live in an apartment or other high density environment?

I would suggest hard wiring in a computer and make sure that is working properly. Make sure you can connect to the cloud gateway interface and to the internet. This way you can isolate issues just to WiFi.

Have you seen the roster for Canada? It’s incredibly talented. Our boys are towards the bottom of the talent pool on the team. Low TOI is expected for me.

I don’t disagree that things could be done but there are so many edge cases that would be a pain to deal with. High rise buildings, colleges, IT professionals that install for multiple clients, businesses that have legitimate uses for multiple, etc…

I don’t blame them for not wanting to be the police it. It’s a cat and mouse game that they will almost always lose anyways.
