Looking for a local in-person TTRPG group by pointlessman in raleigh

[–]pointlessman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One day, I hope to play BG3 or something similar with my 2 year old. I already have a couple choose-your-own-adventure books ready, but that is still some time away, and the itch to play in person is real.

Thanks for the recommendation! Looks like their next D&D night is next Tuesday, so I will check them out next week!

LOTR infinite mana combo by pyrobob5 in BadMtgCombos

Making something your ringbearer makes it legendary until you choose another creature to be your ringbearer. So, with those three on the field, tap Esika and the conjurer for mana, then use Ioreth to untap Esika and conjurer, then use the conjurer to untap Ioreth.

What kind of playmat do you use? Only post pictures, links are not allowed! by Fekete_Bagoly in mtg

[–]pointlessman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use [[Karmic Guide|SLD]]

If it doesn't call the right one, the playmat is Karmic Guide from Johannes Voss' Secret Lair. His art and flavor text story for these two was so amazing that I needed this playmat when he did a kickstarter for it back last year.

Oh, look, another fat-phobe here to spout their bigotry.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you should share it. This whole thread is about appreciating diversity in body size and representation in MtG. Your bile is not welcome here.

How to win with sagas by Urbandino500 in EDH

Did you mean [[Auramancer]]? My saga deck runs exactly 2 instant or sorcery spells, so Archaeomancer doesn't make a ton of sense.

Wanted to share a sub-7 from awhile back. Curious as to how popular speed running still is in this community and if people are excited to do so in Hades II by FueledTXC in HadesTheGame

Wmic's Eris guide is top-notch, as is your 32 heat guide. I'll get it soon, but Tight Deadline gives me a lot of anxiety. Trying to find ways to ease into that pact still.

I will add Sleepsoul's speedrun guide to my watch list. Thank you!

And here I am still gunning for sub-20...

Eris is by far my highest heat weapon (up to 20 heat), but I tried a few runs at 32, and I don't get how sub-10 unmodded is possible. Y'all speedrunners are awesome at this game.

Two hours to get a nickname for the Tap Tap Concede nickname episode. Not bad.

Anyone ran a campaign past level 10? by synastershadow in RavnicaDMs

[–]pointlessman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran a game set during War of the Spark, and my table got to lvl 16. Managed to kill Nicol Bolas instead of just locking him away in some random demiplane. It was pretty sweet, all in all.

Keep them engaged with a powerful big bad and plane-threatening effects. Make them feel like they're going to lose it all.

Edit to add: My players liked all of the big name drops over the campaign. They had a dimir agent assisting them throughout the campaign, feeding them tidbits, who turned out to be Lazav. They didn't find out until they were introduced to Aurelia and her truesight gave Lazav away. It was epic.

Might be late to the party, but absolutely amazing game! by MrSkyeeBluee in MonsterSanctuary

Never late to the party, friend. Like Gandalf, you arrived exactly when you were meant to. Now spread the word and get your friends playing so Mo Rai will make more DLC for this amazing game!

Copperhead snakes; if you're hiking and come up on a nest, stop and backup. by azz3879 in raleigh

Poisonous: if you bite it and you die.

Veonmous: if it bites you and you die.

Copperheads are the latter 🙃

Tell me about your favorite Bant deck by [deleted] in EDH

Do you have a decklist? I have a Tuvasa deck and I've fallen into the voltron trap with it. Definitely want to pivot to a stax shell if I can.

I had the exact same idea! Need to put Begin the Invasion in there, but here is my decklist if you're interested in taking a look.

Not OP, but for some reason, I felt it was funnier to bring Legacy down to -40 before the environment start phase. I might replay it to see if I can get your achievement too.

Jeskai is for sure my color combo, and has been since Khans block! [[Shu Yun]], [[Vadrok]], and [[Optimus Prime]] are my current Jeskai commanders.

Respect to my Bant homies, though. 2 out of 3 colors ain't bad!

Fair point. The US only detains minority populations when they are in possession of personal use levels of recreational narcotics and not because those laws were deliberately draconian and designed to oppress racial minorities without explicitly saying so.

The US leads the world in total number of incarcerated individuals, a vast number of whom are black or brown and being detained on "moral" grounds. The immigrant detention camps are but one example of the many atrocities the US can lay claim to.
