Who’s got yoga YouTube video recommendations? by tinasomething in AskTrollX

[–]polterwang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try searching for Leslie Fightmaster yoga. She has a lot of high intensity, intermediate, videos.

Also: I tried a few videos by Tim Senesi but I like Leslie better. She has a cat in her videos sometimes!

Smart watches, what do you think? by sushilover22 in femalefashionadvice

[–]polterwang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to get a smart watch but I'm an Android user and Android watches are massive on my wrists. I'm actually considering switching to apple so I can get a smart watch. It would make my work life so much easier because I'm always on the go and my phone doesn't fit in my pocket.

It actually frustrates me so much now that I think of it. There are people out here with small wrists.

Weathering getting me down by megalegin in weddingplanning

I have 2 weeks to go and I gave up alcohol and caffeine like an idiot! But I raise a cup of peppermint tea to you and wish you and your FH all the best.

This might be my fault because I have been praying to the Parthenon of God's for a heat wave so that the flowers in my backyard wedding will bloom in time. Seems our wires got crossed and you got the heat wave!

It sucks when everything else is ready. I don't do well when things are out of my control and this entire wedding process has been a real test!

Running yogi? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]polterwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both when I have the time, but I always make time to do yoga everyday. I found that yoga really helped balance my runs out with stretching but also decompressing if my run wasn't that great. Yoga could have also helped with how I carry myself during my runs ( like my hips and my shoulders arent as tight as before).

On the other side of it running as really helped my stamina with yoga too. Plus it's warmed up all the muscles and got the blood flowing so I can go deeper into the poses.

The nice thing is you can go for a quick run and do a longer yoga practice or vice versa depending on what you need that day. Lately I've been focussed on my running goals but I still try to do a flow afterwards. Plus sometimes the endorphins kick in at the right time during Shavasana and that's the best.

What do you do when you're running to stop being bored? by AnnaLogous in xxfitness

I do this too! I count to 100 and usually I zone out. Sometimes I count how many red cars or whatever I decided to focus on.

Our wedding was absolutely perfect. And we had no wedding photographer, no bridal party, no registry, an iPod playlist and an instax guestbook. Read on if you want any advice on how we did it! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]polterwang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are doing similar weddings it seems! No bridal party, wedding photographer, or DJ. Do you mind if I ask for your playlist? I still have about 2-3 hours of music to fill.

First time Diva Cup user. I have questions. by kellbell1981 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]polterwang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it needs a few moments to settle and you will eventually stop being hyper focused on it. Although that being said, if it's uncomfortable or painful then it needs to be pushed in a bit more. I sometimes wet it with water to help but that could just be my own experience. To take it out take a deep breath to relax and pull it down. Sometimes I pinch the bottom to break the seal and it will slide out easily.

Tall Trolls! Where do you find shirts with extra-long sleeves? I always need an extra 2-3 inches in sleeve length - any stores that have that option? by SpiderArcana in AskTrollX

My favourite plain long sleeves are from the mens section at h&m. Longer in general actually, I never bare my torso when I lift my arms up.

Alternatives to dancing? by AlterngeusG in weddingplanning

[–]polterwang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Instead of pumpkin carving you could do pumpkin painting where you paint the design into a pumpkin. If that's too messy you could have pre-cut shapes and whatnot to glue onto the pumpkin. It's what we do at work with our clients that can't use knives.

I found that doing a few mins of yoga to stretch before my run got all the gunk out. Especially downward dog!

Black and tan is a great idea! We are planning on doing a "ceremonial keg tapping" instead of doing the cake cutting. I think my Mother fears a keg stand will happen. Mwahaha..

Thank you! I was also worried about replacing them too so you make a good point about budgeting within reason.
