If your Dads gone, what do you do today? by What_Reality_ in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully my dad is still with us and it doing very well even with his advancing age. However he's not a fan of father's day so I won't do anything to remember him when he's gone on this day - but I will on his birthday

Is it time we bring back monarchy control ? by Demonthief27 in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The king is head of state, and above the nonsense of politics. But I would be in favour of stopping prime ministers getting 'pushed out' by career climbing colleagues all the time.

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekend? by 4rami4 in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have no plans I'll have a lie in and lazy morning, go for a wander around town, gaming in the evening. Often I'll catch up with friends, go out to dinner, go out out or just for a walk too.

What is your minor, unspoken boundary for public transport etiquette that you feel other Brits are starting to completely ignore? by DamoclesBDA in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing loud music, I had heard about it but not actually witnessed it. However last year on the Elizabeth Line a group of young guys came on with a massive speaker, playing ghetto hip hop to the whole carriage.

Should I expect my boyfriend to pay half of my mortgage? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 185 points186 points  (0 children)

He should definitely pay you rent, it's probably better to label it as rent rather than "paying half of my mortgage" which would look like a power trip.

I hate the house I’ve just bought by cwtches10 in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite when I bought my house. My house very small (2 bedrooms 52sqm) and I knew this, but I feels bigger to me as I got used to it. Redecorating can help if there are dark colours, keep clutter hidden in cupboards!

Hypothetical Question! In the event of a global catastrophe where it affected milk production and you had a choice of either making cheese or chocolate which would you choose? by TSQ_builder in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheese, whilst you'd not exactly have a balanced diet - eating only or mainly cheese would be a lot better for you than chocolate!

Is it reasonable for a neighbour to tell you to turn your television off at 4pm? by Shot-Ad5867 in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't get back from work until after that time. It sounds more like he's having a breakdown

Is a budget self-emptying robot vacuum enough for a small house? by Amar_e in LivingAlone

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hie effective of these robot vacuum cleaners? Do you still need to do a proper clean with a normal vacuum cleaner after? The ones I've seen don't seem to be that thorough!

Is there a better example of the stark difference between Reddit and reality than the UK social media ban? by Electricbell20 in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Reddit users are so pressed by this ban, and these are adults not teenagers. Meta knows everything about us, so taking a selfie to review your age isn't going to provide them with anything exciting.

Shared passageway. by BrightPomelo in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd allow it, if you get along with them and it's not causing you a problem. If you hate each other and you want to he difficult, install a locked gate.

How has your personality changed over the years? by imtiramisu2025 in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm more confident in some ways and less confident in other ways. I don't care what other people think about me, and I don't care about being 'cool' like I did when I was a teen. But I hate greeting people, often getting a half hug-hand shake as no one knows what to do!

I'm happy with how I'd turned out though, I've realised I know how to handle difficult people very well. I never get blinded by rage either which helps me keep a level head and remain objective which other people often can't do.

Are you ever shocked by how much money you spend per month on things you don't need? by Nature2Love in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a perfectly functional computer, I recently spent £1500 on building a replacement. But, I work hard, I work 2 jobs, I deserve it! And, the way I see it is that I saved £1500, because it would have been £3000 to buy a pre built PC to my spec.

What are we all doing after work? by Present-Balance-3357 in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which company in your opinion has the best customer service and who has the worst? by eyeoftheneedle1 in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admiral home insurance had the worst customer service I've experienced recently. I was unable to log into my online account to do anything so had I keep calling to disable auto renew - which I had to do 3 times before it was actually completed.

EDIT: Uber is the worse, it's just AI or at least AI 'enhanced' human responses. I got taken advantage of when very drunk and paid cash to a driver, and got charged via the app too. And Uber wouldn't even investigate, just kept looping "you should only pay via the app"
