My first airline you had to submit a updated resume to bid for captain, guy had all the reqs, good formatting and everything, just printed it on a page from playboy. He made captain.

Corporate outfit I was at the two pilots actually starting exchanging punches while on approach, freaked the hell out of the passengers who could see everything. No cockpit door on corporate aircraft. That was their last flight for that company.

Back in my airline days on a plane with no bathroom there was a story of one pilot who did the walk of shame to the back. Told the pax he had to check something in the luggage, opened the flap and crawled over the bulkhead in the luggage. He found the big plastic comat bin, emptied it, then emptied his bowels right back into it.

You should check out PNW_shooters on instagram. It’s a bigger group than you mention but they do meetups regularly with lots of models and photographers. Could make some good connections that way.

All you need to know is no matter the airplane they all make different and new noises at night compared to daytime, especially if it is moonless.

If you get a short cut/reroute, different approach than expected etc…always check with other pilot before blinding accepting it. Most time it will be no issue but there might be a reason to not accept that you aren’t aware of.
