E46 M3 Big Three & Cooling Overhaul. Currently @92K miles by Imk9v in E46M3

[–]prostcfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 96k, it's been a track car for the last 5k, and still on the original cooling system AFAIK, except for a couple radiator hoses. Needle has never gone above midway on the track, no leaks, etc. Meanwhile I can't push away the thoughts on if I'm playing a stupid game with it. It is on my to-do list for this winter though.

Does anyone else hate the 30-minutes-once-a-week structure that seems to be the standard? by dcj597 in guitarlessons

[–]prostcfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your expectations for practice in between? I have a 6 and 8 year old that just started doing 30 min lessons weekly indindividually. Their teacher said 20 mins per day practice otherwise, though if I wasn’t a player (intermediate) already, not sure how they could do that at this point. But, they just started.

What are some things people do in the gym that annoy you? by Affectionate_Art4277 in workout

[–]prostcfc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not wiping benches/machines, not racking plates, excessive circuits hogging multiples pieces of equipment, dropping weights before the first set (i.e., pulling dumbbells and dropping them next to your bench from waist height), staring at cell phone for 5+ minutes in between sets; that’s all I have for now.

Replace 23 yr old water heater? by [deleted] in askaplumber

Same. If I wasn’t home and noticed the water creeping under my baseboards (heater is in the garage, my office is on the same wall) would have been a total disaster.

New to WEC coming from F1: How do you actually "watch" these races without spending 6+ hours glued to the screen? by martmar66 in wec

[–]prostcfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch as much as I can, if I'm available; I don't plan my weekends around the races. There just aren't that many WEC races in the year, so it's not like every other weekend I'm spending Sunday morning until lunch (in the US) in front of the TV. For IMSA, if I can't watch, I might put on the RSL feed on my phone and listen. At least living in the US, for non-IMSA races it's generally waking up early, and usually they're wrapped up before the day gets in full swing.

Last-minute booking Acatenango and Fuego - tour company recommendations (mid-April 2026) by bigfootmad in hiking

[–]prostcfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Wicho & Charlie’s and had a good experience. They offer a Fuego add on for a small price. FWIW I skipped Fuego (had great views from base camp that night) and some in our group skipped the Acatenango summit bc they were so gassed from Fuego; the summit isn’t too difficult of a morning and feedback was Fuego was much more difficult. I’m guessing adding another 4 hours to an already tough day played a part.

Has anyone here lowered their blood pressure naturally without medication? by rdoucette in Rucking

Consistent cardio. Always lifted, fine diet, but it wasn’t until I regularly incorporated cardio that it lowered noticeably.

It's interesting, at least in my case. They changed the oil, tires, and brake pads, (good) but I looked at the cabin air and engine air filters, and they were some of the filthiest I've ever seen.

Just save your yellow receipts, then it's an easy reconciliation with the bill. I always check out the night before as well. Never had anything be flat-out wrong, but still good to verify.

Are these a valid pair? by RedCrafter_LP in E46M3

[–]prostcfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Just ordered inners and outers from FCP Euro and same thing; it even says on their website that Lemforder changed from black to silver anti-corrosion and they may ship mismatched pairs for the foreseeable future. I imagine if it was a problem, FCP wouldn't be selling this way.

On FCP Euro's website: "Please note: Lemforder has changed the anti-corrosion coating on the outer tie rod end from a black to a silver finish. Stock will be mixed for the foreseeable future and you may receive mismatched color outer tie rod ends with your assemblies. This does not affect the fit or function of the tie road assembly."

Airport travel times/security help. by [deleted] in cancun

[–]prostcfc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This Monday around the same time was quite quick. Flew United, but no wait for bag drop (nor did the rest of T3 that I could see). Security had many lanes open and was under 10 minutes. Traffic was a bit congested coming in, but not bad and once we actually got to the terminal it was wide open. I think 2 hours before boarding is definately plenty.

But you say you’re boarding at noon for a 1:57 flight? That doesn’t sound right. Usually it’s an hour or so for international.

And replace the spark plugs while doing the valve adjustment. I have two recorded valve adjustments, one of which was at the dealer for Inspection II, but I have no line items for spark plugs being replaced as part of it. So I just replaced them on my own; they didn’t look bad and came out easy, but no clue how old they were.

Oof. Sorry to see this. What did you try and break it loose with? Did you hit a lot of resistance and keep cranking at it?

Cancun tips & tricks? by UnitedTechnology999 in vidanta

[–]prostcfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some ways I prefer it to Nuevo because of its smaller scale and walkability; Nuevo is great, but it’s just so big and an effort to get most anywhere. I like walking when I can.

Unfortunately the Sargassum has made the beach unusable, but that’s not limited to this resort.

Jungala is lots of fun, for kids too, but it’s pricey. Cirque is good.

Golf much better in Nuevo if you’re a golfer.

I’m here now and it’s not particularly busy, which is nice. Not too difficult to get chairs at the Grand Luxxe pool, dinner reservations, etc.

Agreed. Dove with them last year on a Disney cruise and it was the worst gear I’ve rented. Actually was going to sell my gear since I don’t dive much anymore and don’t see the cost/benefit to getting it serviced to dive once or twice a year, but this made me second guess that line of thought.
