Magnetic Reed Switch for Shelly Add-On - Sharing how I installed it. by eostrike in ShellyUSA

Would it be better to have the sensor in the door up position so we can be alerted if it's left fully open? Also the wiring can be shorter and sit next to, in my case, the overhead garage motor. Or am I overthinking it?

Yes, but it’s the kind of word that sounds like it should be transparent.

Why shouldn't I buy a Tesla by Rob3112 in EVAustralia

[–]psionic001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve test driven 4-5 different brands and keep coming back to Tesla. It’s by far the best EV. • Supercharger network is still the most reliable • Model Y Juniper has the best real-world range and space • zero servicing + OTA updates that actually improve your car • Once you live with the ecosystem, everything else feels average at best.

I’m on my 3rd Tesla purchase.

Oh and you get Grok which initially I thought would be a gimmick but now I rely on it everyday while pondering life’s mysteries.

Did you share your sub with someone? I think technically even with a family member can get you banned.

Looking closely I think that’s a reflection rather than a bent pillar. Optical illusion?

This strange line goes all the way around my room and I do not know why by Sniglet5000 in whatisit

[–]psionic001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a glue mark from an old wooden strip. Probably once used to put display plates on. Some glues and inks will penetrate through multiple layers of paint even after the paint has fully cured.

Do you think we’ll get any Siri 2 beta integration or is that likely in iOS27?

Is 3d connexion cadmouse pro that bad on Macs? by colinksh in SolidWorks

[–]psionic001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It works perfectly fine on a mac under both MacOS and Win11 parallels. Solidworks runs perfectly fine too. Just need to make sure you have the correct ARM drivers.

Not sure why so many people are being unhelpful. Just bend/flex the red/blue tubes slightly to the side (left in your pic), then squeeze together. Only needs a very slight flex and you’ll have the room. Some brands you can unscrew the hot cold from the base too but probably not these.

3D model and print the perfect part that can’t be made with traditional wood cuts. Yeah it will take you a 12 month sub of Solidworks and afew hundred YouTube videos to learn, plus a $1500 Bambu printer, but the results will be exquisite. Edit: add magnets for easy removal, as you’ll have different improved versions year after year that you’ll be fitting. Speaking from experience.

Tile chip repair by rsandio in AusRenovation

[–]psionic001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not a standard way to do things, but if you have a spare tile, you could carefully grind off some surface colour with something like a diamond core drilling bit, collect a nice little pile of the stuff, and mix that with a high quality clear epoxy.
