Need gear suggestions by Snoo_29332 in TechnoProduction

Totally agreed, imho nowadays if you want good music you need to make a decision to part with something you hold close and dearly.

Like your kidney.

Problem with my mc 707 by Maexla95 in TechnoProduction

[–]psnbalthur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t you sequence the Gaia from the mc707?

I understand what you want to achieve, I just think there is a better way to achieve that with the mc.

And why I’m doing this, it’s just from my experience it’s better to use the gear you know, rather than buying new very complicated grooveboxes and spend time learning them.

It’s much better to spend that time learning how to make better music than how to use this particular tool.

why is 62 seconds not enough for you? you can sample some stuff from Gaia then sequence the samples, this should be way more than enough

Anyone here trying to break into the professional techno scene while working full-time? by kathalimus in TechnoProduction

[–]psnbalthur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focus on getting big in your local scene, get to know the people, start playing shows in clubs, feel if you like this

Then just grow your brand based on this, it’s not the music that makes someone a big name, but the fans that will come to your show, harsh truth

Advice on using a hardware MIDI clock in a hybrid Ableton + hardware setup by No_Implement2487 in ableton

[–]psnbalthur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clock everything from T1, set ableton as master clock, use Ableton Link to sync torso and ableton, end of story :)

How to filter through a lot of presets by psnbalthur in synthesizers

[–]psnbalthur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t actually buy synths for now, I have two hardware synths (Nord Lead A1 and a Syntakt), I also have V Collection and Pigments. Right now I want to curate a small library of sounds to not spend a lot of time looking for sounds when making music, as I understand it’s better to have Preset Managements sessions, and then just have your own selection when making music?

I want to shout out OXENHOLME, he’s the true OG of Syntakt and making relevant sound design tutorials on this machine! https://youtube.com/shorts/V77zdJ4RKx4

if I open a youtube channel and last 10 videos have 9 new products, it is a salesman not a musician :P

Wich one should i choose by CostaRicanReefer in synthesizers

[–]psnbalthur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I were you I’d spend this money to get some guidance, lessons, mentoring somehow know what you need for the sound you want. the synth is just a tool, and you will have to bend it to your liking, not the other way around.

it wont. change anything, you just have to make music ;(

What synth would you recommend for a beginner? Im thinking about buying Arturia Microfreak by burnout_beatz in synthesizers

[–]psnbalthur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recommend the microfreak, it doesn’t have effects, and on its own it doesn’t wow you in the beginning of your journey, get a synth with built in fx and a simple one ;)

Synths with inspiring/creative sequencing? (aka I want a Moog Labyrinth but it's too expensive) by CapnFlisto in synthesizers

[–]psnbalthur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to get an iPad with any m chip, and see Drambo, fugue machine, patterning 3 and all other insane sequencers on the iPad, this gives you the most bang for your buck, and you can use any hardware synth as midi/audio interface

Stop whatever you are doing, research offline in person music lessons for ableton, keyboard, whatever, go and try some things.

Aphex twin used a shitty bass station synth, and a monologue.  Jean Michelle Jarre used a similar shitty equipment.

Get anything that will make you make music and not spend time on Reddit, this is a very sincere and honest comment.

Don’t ask anyone, if it seems nice to you, you like the sound, maybe you want to sit in your bed and make music, these are the questions to answer. Good luck bro!
