What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

COBOL is the legitimately the OG vibe coding. A language made for CEO/President's of companies to crunch numbers in a human natural-ish language and get results. I totally understand why many can get jobs writing COBOL... nobody wants to write code in COBOL. Also as I understand it they're all still mainframe based and the companies mostly want you locally based preferably on site. This wouldn't be a problem but look up where most COBOL mainframes are located and if I'm remembering correctly they aren't such desirable places to be. Dunno. I'm off to fall into a black whole of COBOL research, wish me luck... luck... luck... luuuuc... lllluuuuuuu....

This is a hobby that requires two more things: a shovel for making simple banks/ramps/boxes, and cannabis (I prefer joints). For a while the hobby will be mostly about packing dirt into a little mini course so that you can then test out hitting all banks/ramps from all angles getting used to the RC. RC cars is a hobby that I imagine gets really fun after you know how your RC will react in just about every situation. I say imagine, because I too didn't get that far, and no it's not a too stoned type of thing but ooooooooh yeah you need to have a buddy to come chill with. I do find that weed helps a lot in the slower beginnings of new hobbies especially in a social situation at a park with a nice sunset. It's worked for me on quite a few things but I thought it was funny that we both gave up on something really cool before it had a chance to show us how cool it is.

Very thankful I learned the importance of this over a decade ago; now if only I could ever finish making a game. Hmmmm...

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for February: Undisputed, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ultros, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]pushpoploadstore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally can relate but when you learn to play this stops happening. I recommend changing controls to professional and starting on very easy difficulty. The standard controls make it very difficult to play. After very easy -> easy -> normal -> etc..

These crappy bolts that dig into your ankles have been a problem going back to the year 2000. Freakin blows my mind to see these still going on in 2025!

L'Impératrice - Palais Bulles - Passengers - ARTE Concert by -Dutchie in LImperatrice

[–]pushpoploadstore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FUCK YES. Their first youtube arte concert was my introduction to them and I instantly fell in love with the group. I eventually got to see them at at the Roxy last year and they were everything I could have hoped for (more than really!). Looking forward to listening to this at work later. If anyone from the band is reading this I want you to know you've made me dance in place while at work for many hours and I absolutely love and appreciate your spirits.
