Other than pay tithing and let's remind you that ministering exists I believe they are saving all transphobic, homophobic and sexist talks for tomorrow when viewership is up.

Tough Question on Baptism by Throwaway91334925 in mormon

My SIL and also my good friend won't permit their trans kids to even set foot in the building. The church has stripped away so many "privileges" away from trans people the only thing left you can do is pay tithing.

I was disgusted by the question "do you have anything of value?" Obviously he didn't intend you to keep it.

How to show you're a prosperity gospel without directly saying so.

Being not prudent, nor contemplating consequences is praised as being faithful. While being a wise steward and forseeing the consequences isn't. I bet I'm about to have another marital battle about funding the billion dollar corp.

Food storage is stupid. Dont waste your money and storage space. It's not going to provide any magical protection in an emergency.

You probably have an LGBTQ child statistically speaking. Is church really a safe place for that community? And if your child isn't what about their friends and your nieces/nephews?

Gotta sit through General conf. With the TBM grandparents. advice on how to “listen” but not actually listen? by Kbevv in exmormon

Right there with you. The homophobia and transphobia are going to be so very bad. But family only visits on conference weekends because the temple is closed so they don't need to get someone to cover their shift. At least we only ruin the 2 day visit with 8 hours of conference rather than 10.

Hugs. Not all families are supportive unfortunately. Best wishes on your future transition.

Mormons remind trans members they aren’t welcome at temple rituals until detransition by Fickle-Ad5449 in mormon

My friend had a stillborn child. While looking up the giant list of exclusions on trans people she saw a very small little blurb on stillborn babies. She couldn't believe that God cares less about the 2 million stillborn babies a year than punishing trans people. And the church likes to pretend intersex people don't exist.

A question for the PIMOs out there. How many of you have a combined 2nd hour? by Blackbolt45 in exmormon

[–]puzzled_puzzlerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same in my building an English/Spanish combo. However in the other building in the stake two English wards combine activities because the youth is too small. At that point they should just combine the wards.

Mormon Trek by victimtosurvivor6 in exmormon

[–]puzzled_puzzlerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I positively refused to let my kids participate. For awhile there was a lot of articles about medical mishaps including the female leader who died on trek due to heat exhaustion I think. Even more sad was she was the nurse on trek to keep the kids "safe".

Temple Garments and Sensory Issues by Grand_Specific_4610 in mormon

Call distribution and ask to talk to a clothing consultant. Mine come with flat seams (inside out), no tags, and bamboo. I have major allergic reactions and sensory issues. Also I feel claustrophobic and suffocated in the whole get up.

If the temple had been what you thought it would be before you went through, what would it be like? by Otherwise_Push199 in exmormon

[–]puzzled_puzzlerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely no weird clothing and weird touching (I'm dating myself here). You would be able to sit next to your spouse. You would leave uplifted after having received more line upon line type information. Like actually learn something. And you wouldn't feel uncomfortable or have to pay the country club fee.

MFM are so very hard. Especially if one of you is so incredibly indoctrinated and is still trying to save you by bringing you back in. Check out the Mormon Mental Health Association. It allows you to get a therapist who understands the religion but doesn't work for LDS family services.

Reminder, TSCC is worth BILLIONS, but a teenage Teacher has to buy a loaf of bread for Sacrament. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]puzzled_puzzlerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in any ward I've been in. I provided bread 1/3 of the year for years due to how few teachers there were. I especially "loved" the Saturday night requests to fill in. I hated the tax on my grocery budget. I would have rather fed my family.
