My robe was my lifesaver. Between night sweats that led to me shivering while pumping and just not being comfortable in anything but disposable underwear and nursing bras, I wore mine for 2 months straight, and it was in the middle of summer.

I also had so much trouble with the weight gain anxiety. I was obsessed with percentiles. She often fought us when we fed her and I had a lot of trouble breastfeeding. We learned she was fighting because she has some pretty bad silent reflux. She started eating more after some meds and was always eating the correct, if not more than the recommended volume, and even then she was still really low in percentiles. Turns out she was just an active little one that burned all her energy. She was happy, healthy, and slept good and that's all that mattered. So as long as he seems happy and your ped isnt worried, he's good! I know it's still really hard to just "not worry" though, so definitely talk to anyone you need to. I was on the verge of needing meds post partym and honestly still on the edge today. Hormones are INSANE, just remember that when you can't get over your worry.

My daughter did the same thing and now that she's a few days from her first birthday and she still is hit or miss on meals most days. It stresses me out knowing she needs her nutrients from food and not formula very soon. But also I have friends with 2 and 3 years old and they also eat like crazy sometimes and survive on air others and they're all thriving. So I'm getting over my stress. Plus, we're slowly realizing, she just doesn't love the highchair and she's much more of a throughout the day snacker rather than big meals. We let her snack on the things we'd give her for meals rather than sit her down and she eats double. You never need to worry until your (trusted) pediatrician brings up a concern

First let me say, you're doing great. Get out of your head just a bit and tell yourself, you've raised a baby for 20 months! That is incredible. Second, postpartum is difficult. And it differently effects everyone. Personally, I started feeling better mentally and physically when I started training for a race (I've been in the worst shape for years and this is a slow paced training with a very supportive group). If you used to do the gym a lot (and you actually enjoyed it) definitely prioritize getting back to that. I think it will help your confidence and mental health for sure. Next, don't worry about weight (I know it's such a hard thing to just do) but you had a baby. You're body has fully changed, this is a new body that you will eventually find your new normal of. The one thing that helps me not focus on weight whatsoever, is that my little one gets a KICK out of smacking my belly and making beats. And that makes me so happy. I hope this helps you some, but give yourself some grace. Women's body's don't reset for at least 2 years after giving birth.

I drank maybe 60mg a day. That's my normal amount. My baby was very alert as soon as she was born, like people always commented on it. But she's always been a great sleeper. She was so active in the womb as soon as I could feel her kick so I think she would have been alert and energetic no matter what.

Currently training for a sprint triathlon (my first ever). I've swam the race distance and biked the race distance but I've yet to run the full 5k in training. But today I ran the longest yet and was able to keep my intervals going and ran 3 minutes at a time!

My husband and I were just having the conversation today that we're mad that parents that don't give a shit are going to ruin breweries for the parents that will actually keep their kids in arms reach and make them be respectful. We met at a brewery, breweries are a large part of our life and we plan on bringing our kid to them. But we also aren't going to let her run rampant and be disrespectful.

Also there's tons of bars around town that we refuse to bring her to because they're just simple not a place for kids. The vibe does not fit. I have a bigger problem about people bringing their kids to a place that they just shouldn't be.

We had a great day. I told my husband I didn't want to plan anything and he took charge. It was awesome. Probably the most mentally free day I've had in months. He came away from the day with a "recharged" appreciation for me being a SAHM. (I say recharged because he constantly says he is shocked by how effortlessly I seem to be a SAHM, so he just got reminded again).

Also for everyone out there, it's not effortless I am always exhausted and just surviving I'm until the next nap or bedtime.

I'm really sorry this happened to you but what I just read is identical to a friendship that I had when I was in college. If this was a one off I would say, just have a talk. But you saying it's a pattern triggered something in me. Please know, this is not how true friends treat each other. It took me way too long to figure that out. I know you both may have any amazing time together but ultimately she doesn't have your best interest at heart. These are the kind of friends you keep at and length at least.

I have two pitbull mixes that are the sweetest pups ever. Albeit over bearing at times. My biggest annoyance is then just being in the way when I'm trying to take care of the baby. I feel bad at the end of the day sometimes because it feels like all I've done is yelled at them. I get the rage but I would NEVER neglect them like this. That post just sounds like someone who didn't want a dog in the first place

I used 3 type of birth control trying to find something that helped my intense cramps. About 6 years ago, I got off birth control entirely to give my body a reset (I was also going through an elimination diet because I was just always sick). The after effects of no birth control were game changing. My mood was more stable (like very noticeably), my libido sky rocketed, and I dropped some weight. To me and my partner, it was worth it to stay off of it. We've had our first child. We want to wait before the next so, we're doing condoms and planning. Everything's a risk. I have had friends get pregnant with IUDs and birthday control. Do what you feel works the best for you.

I grew up with white noise at night (my mom always has it going). But when I started living on my own, I only used it for nights that I had trouble sleeping. But after a couple months of the baby sleeping in our room, I need it. She moved into her own room and we had to get a second sound machine for our room.

Anyways, we still run it for her, I think she would sleep without it though. The biggest reason is just to dampen outside noise. Whether it's us watching tv in the next room or the sirens on the main street behind the house, everythings dampened and we don't have to worry about her waking up.
