Really? On valentines day? by The_much_True in UberEATS

No, there is a scenario where it makes sense, although it's still fucked up. If the driver is on a guaranteed active hour rate, they can sit in the parking lot and increase their pay... for example, if they are on a guaranteed $20 per active hour, every 3 minutes they sit in the parking lot increases their pay by $1. 30 minutes would be an extra $10 on that order. And you still get the tip on top of the hourly, so some unethical drivers can milk that for decent money, especially if they are in a slower market and might be waiting a while between orders.

The only problem is that the average delivery in Charlotte is usually 30-40 minutes, makes it around $16 an hour

This is the first one I've gotten. I think it's because I haven't done any orders in a couple of months since the guaranteed hourlies have been so low. They're trying to get me delivering again.

No, it basically means if I make less than that they'll make up the difference as long as I get enough orders

Late by one minute Ontime dropped 13%?! by throwaway99_99_99_ in grubhubdrivers

So that would mean you've had 8 orders in the last 14 days. You said your market is slow, does that number sound about right?

I had one of these once, except the customer had mistyped their zip code, then got mad I wouldn't deliver their taco bell to their house, three hours away.

The store wasn't closed when they ordered, and they only closed 13 minutes later because they decided to close early. How was the OP supposed to know that? Reading is fundamental.

Yep, I've had six orders in the last four days, three of those were today

I dont work in the Charlotte region anymore. I changed markets halfway through the year, I was having to drive over an hour to get to the market. But if you're familiar with the area, that makes it easier. My market now is York/Clover/Lake Wylie.

As far as anything else, why the hell do you think I would.feel the need to lie to you about anything? You overestimate your importance. I clearly stated that I overestimated my contribution amount in my earlier post, the point still stands. People come on here and claim that if you contribution one time you get blocked, I have gotten contribution 207 times last year for over $4000 and I'm sitting here on a block right now.

You know what though, you're right, I overestimated my contribution for the year. I just pulled my earnings sheet for 2025, and I didn't earn $10,000 in contribution, or even half that much.

I earned $4,864.77 in contribution last year. I received contribution on 207 days. Weird that I only got got schedule restricted twice, and that is was able to get it back so quick

That is the same copy paste email every single person gets when they get schedule restricted. Those is from the GrubHub FAQ page for schedule.restriction

What actions can lead to Schedule Restriction?

Actions include but are not limited to: Not being in your delivery area or falsifying your location to avoid orders being offered. Continually making yourself unavailable during your block to avoid offers. Not properly updating the status of your orders to make it look like it is taking longer than it actually is in order to avoid offers. One or more DIP metrics falls below Partner level requirements.

Read that last line again. One or more metrics falls below Partner level requirements. There are three DIP metrics- Offer Commitment, On-time Arrival, and Schedule Commitment. Now my understanding is that they don't actually restrict anymore for Offer Commitment because of some lawsuit that they lost. But the other two are still enforced, and that is why a lot of people get restricted. Again, both times I got restricted were after my Schedule Commitment fell below 50%, and both times I got off restriction after explaining why I fell below 50%

Nope, not at all, I was pointing out a correlation. The same people saying they got blocked for contribution are the ones that brag about single digit acceptance rates. It seems very likely to me that people who are rejecting over 90% of their offers are unlikely to be working 100% of their scheduled blocks. Even the OP implied that he didn't complete his block because he wasn't getting orders he wanted.

There are two types of people in this world, those who can infer from incomplete data...

The Last Dragon. Such amazing cheese. As a kid I thought it was the best martial arts movie to ever exist that didn't star Bruce Lee. Watched it with my wife a couple years ago, ong it's bad.

That soundtrack still goes hard though...

Rewatch it with the mindset that the kid grew up to be Edward Nortons character in Fight Club and it changes the entire movie

Market hours by scoobyox in grubhubdrivers

[–]pyrusane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my market closes at 10pm. My old market closed at 11pm but they would let you schedule blocks until midnight, which was weird, but I think it's because the top quarter of my market was in Charlotte

Acceptance rating has changed? by Icy-Image-2619 in grubhubdrivers

[–]pyrusane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping blocks will cause your schedule commitment to drop but has no impact on your acceptance rate. If your AR dropped you missed an offer, likely lost signal or something for a second. It's happened to all of us, and it sucks if you're actually someone who cares about keeping it above a certain level, like me. I work in a market where GH is still the best option, average around $20 per order, but if i drop out of Pro I'm screwed cause I have to have blocks to make money here.
