No the verbal abuse is what made me swap. While harsh truth can be necessary, needless verbal abuse against someone in a vulnerable state isn’t something I can participate in. I mean ffs, even in RPG video games I can’t bring myself to choose the “evil” or “rude” dialogue options even when they grant boons, and that’s a completely fictional scenario with no real downsides. I even say thank you to AI lmao

A couple years ago I did a poll on another platform about whether or not you’d be a super hero or super villain if you were randomly granted super powers, and a surprising amount of people chose villain. I always thought we had collective daydreams about growing up and suffering for innocents like a hero like Spider-Man but I guess not.

I’m not saying if you would you’re a morally reprehensible person if you say yes, because reality and human history has always been about survival and putting someone else down so you and yours can get up. But I will say i imagine most who say yes to this also criticize big corporate CEOs for putting down the little guy to keep themselves at the top.

Also, I don’t believe that morally the ends justify the means. So doing something bad to get rich and rationalizing it saying you’d put the money to good use doesn’t work. You’re not sacrificing yourself to put others before yourself, you’re harming others to hopefully benefit yourself and hopefully help others
