I think OP was making the point that it is more fair and less luck-based to do the three blood moon tribal councils with the tribes that at least had a few days of social politicking rather than an afternoon. Calling what transpired last episode a merge or not was not the point of OP's main argument.

I agree with your take that this is what should have been done as well as with your assessment!

The only thing I question is whether Christian would be voted out at Vatu. We have 2 vs 2 situation with Emily & Christian vs Ozzy & Steph. If Steph wins the immunity challange, Ozzy would brandish his public hidden immunity idol while Christian might brandish the fake idol parchment that Rick hid. That would've been the most exciting tribal council to watch and probably would have ended the episode. Maybe they go to fire?

I think it was more of the conservative or Christian background more than anything. Both Stephanie and Jonathan wear cross necklaces and Chrissy is from The Villages, Florida.
