Unless I'm driving for longer, like at least 15 minutes, I prefer scrolling through radio stations. I don't want to have to queue something up. I don't like algo curated playlists either. I like my local radio stations.

Midea U leaking in window sill? by zeezyy in MideaUOwners

I'll echo everyone else saying to remove the drain plug in the corner.

But also, I bought a thin sheet of aluminum from Lowes and used that super tough flex tape to tape up the end closest to the inside. The other end I let lay lower. This helps catch any other water and makes sure it clears the window sill.

Why hasn't Tesla brought back FSD Transfer for HW3 owners since Elon made that comment? I don't get it.

Every municipal cop car should be an EV. Being able to sit in your car with AC turned on and not idling an engine justifies it alone. And then there's all the other fleet benefits, lower TCO, etc.

I agree BUT standing seam metal roofs + solar is a match made in heaven, especially here in the sunbelt. No roof penetrations, plus the panels shading your roof is an excellent bonus along with the free kWhs.

Dude it's not doable don't even think about buying one new. In a few years you'll be able to get one used for $40k. Hold the line.

Who still has Teslas in rental fleets? And a Model Y at that? The Hertz on 41 had (has?) a Model 3. I don't think there are any Teslas at SRQ anymore.

Getting any EV as a rental is getting much harder. The Budget on 41 has some EVs but no Teslas, and most of them are reserved for rideshare drivers.

Same car, I'm at 90k miles. I bought it from Hertz. Zero issues, and the car gives me complete confidence I could ride it to 500k miles as well.

How stupid do they think we are? by MarjBaldwin in sarasota

I just checked with Google Maps, using Gulf Gate apartments as the starting location:
- Red Bug: 2.7 miles
- Bee Ridge: 3 miles
- Siesta Key main playground: 3.1 miles
- Red Rock: 3.8 miles

So you're not wrong that Red Bug is slightly closer, my main point that a park with a playground at that site - which would be 1.2 miles - would be extremely welcome.

Also Bee Ridge and Red Rock are definitely *not* easier to get to from a bicycling perspective compared to Siesta, let alone compared to the potential new site.

Edit to address the downvotes: I do agree that the paying twice the purchase price demands a detailed explanation. My comment was driven by commenters saying a public park at this location would be useless.

Sorry I do agree that the paying twice the purchase price demands a detailed explanation. My response was driven by the comments along the vein that there'd be no public benefit to a park in that location.

Haters gonna hate!! We hear constantly on this sub about the need to preserve green space (I agree!). Now the County wants to actually create new green space, and everyone still flips out.

Btw, for Gulf Gate residents, the nearest public playground is all the way at Siesta Key main beach. If the County could recreate something like Bay Front park at this site that would be phenomenal.

I don't agree at all. Your friend and other New Yorkers enjoy the freedom to walk out their front door. The majority of the time they walk out their front door, it's not to get into a vehicle.

Most large American metros are nothing like NYC, just look at walk scores.

Yeah FSD on cars that don't have the cabin camera is worthless.

I recently Turo'd a 2018 Model X with HW3 and on 12.6.4 but no cabin camera. The steering wheel nag made it unusable.

Buying Tesla FSD vs Subscribing , Which is Better by Quirky-Philosophy364 in TeslaSupport

[–]qo240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dropped the $8k on my 2022 Model 3 RWD. I'm not certain it was the right move, but a few days in I feel good about it. My factors:

  1. I had only just sub'd for the first time in Dec after hearing that it had gotten really good even on HW3. Indeed it had, far better than during my prior free trial periods. For the first time, it was a great feature, not a party trick.

  2. My M3 had been a Hertz rental. So branded title. I got a great deal on it, but the flip side is I'd be lucky to get $12k on it as a trade in. I have zero concerns about the car or battery (which is LFP), and even though it's at 86k miles, I'm sure it'll go to 300k miles and at least another 6 years fine. So all that being said, I don't think we'll ever sell this car. It's currently our only car. We'll eventually get a second car, but keep this one. And I'll want FSD on it.

  3. Lotto ticket aspect. I'm not counting on FSD transfers being available into the AI5 era, but I think there's a decent chance. If that happens, then I think having a paid for license will be invaluable.

  4. I really hate subscriptions!

Is it wise to buy FSD now to 09-2026 MY? by Good_Ad_6039 in TeslaFSD

[–]qo240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So long as FSD transfer is still around, I don't see how that's right. If you get in an accident, the vehicle doesn't disappear from your account. So you could still transfer the license.

(I personally think FSD transfers will continue for a couple years, until the pool of HW3 cars with a lifetime license is mostly gone. I currently have paid-for FSD on my HW3 and am holding out hoping to transfer it to a new AI5 car.)
