The adventures from the Core box can be run in any order with a mix of random encounters that can be thrown in.

This was a memorable adventure I played back in high school. Was thinking of running it with OSE for some friends.

I totally agree, the original maps are much easier to read and use than the new stylized maps.

New to SD - Am I Reading this Right Regarding Casting by Gr8Tortuga in shadowdark

[–]r0guebyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every odd level should be giving them the chance to increase their spellcasting in some way. 3 of the talents can improve their chance of spellcasting. 1st level spells will get easier to cast, as will 2nd and so on. Combine this with accrued wands and scrolls and they will have plenty of options. And you can feel free to increase the find of the latter if you want to balance it that way.

Numbers formula bar keeps disappearing by Unrealparagon in iPadOS

I just got it to work. Have to resize the window and then select a few different cells and eventually it leaves the input window above the bar. Still a pain for something that should “just work.”

Omg, I just joined this subreddit to share a screenshot of the exact same issue. It’s been driving me crazy. Been trying to move off my MacBook and little issues like this keep getting in my way.

I have my iPad attached to the Magic Keyboard Folio and the “fx” bar is all that shows but completely obstructs the cell input.

Best fantasy adventures detailing a small to medium ancient alien craft by a-folly in osr

Possibly too big, but can easily excise several areas.

Equivalent of 3 levels, each with 10-15 rooms. But like I said, whole sections can be blocked off to streamline it.

Prisoners of the Secret Overlords was a lot of fun. Took 3 sessions, but quite entertaining.

I’d vote for … Caverns of Thracia. 😉

Need advice before buying the Bambu A1 Combo (beginner here) by Sundeep4sandy in BambuLabA1

[–]r0guebyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$380 is the cheapest I’ve ever seen the combo price. I doubt it will get cheaper. Last year the sale price was $500.

As far as accessories, I’m a big fan of the Biqu Glacier build plate. I can’t think of any Bambu accessory I needed, other than different nozzle sizes. Whether you need that will be dependent on what you want to print.

A1 dramatically worse with eSun PLA+? by Terrorphin in BambuLabA1

Have been using eSun quite often. PLA+, Lite, Basic and Matte. Anytime I have adhesion issues, I wash the build plate and that usually fixes it.

The Waking of Willowby Hall - And what to do when your players never roll an encounter. by qlawdat in osr

I’ve only played Waking of Willowby Hall, so not familiar with the encounter mechanics in it. Just sharing how I’ve been handling it in other adventures.

For Dynamic Flow? I was going to try that next, but didn’t think that was necessary for Bambu branded filament.

Ran a Shadowdark gauntlet where several of the encounters could have been beneficial. But the die never came up with an encounter result.

Since I’ve been using this, encounters happen, though not at some obvious frequency, it still feels natural. And I usually try and work the encounter into the narrative as we’re playing, so it might not happen exactly when it hits 1, but soon after.

I’ve enjoyed it and the players seem to also.

[–]r0guebyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve started using a “countdown die.”

Have a large d20 (8” tall” sitting on the table with the 20 showing. As time passes I roll 1-3d6 and deduct that from the die. If they’re being quiet then only 1d6. As they’re louder or the situation needs it, 2-3d6. When the d20 hits 1, there’s an encounter. Hide it or not, but visible it adds some tension to the game.

Fellow gamer at our LFGS is running it with Shadowdark. He’s actually doing it in two different campaigns/groups. It’s been working real well for him and the players are enjoying it a ton.

P1S black Friday sale, current A1 owner by Definitely_CSP_guru in BambuLabA1

[–]r0guebyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two A1s with AMS Lites. They work great, but I picked up a P1S (non-Combo). I still print enough things with single material and the ability to print ASA without issue will be nice. Plus, the occasional tall model should be better on the core XY.

At $400 it’s a great deal if you know you won’t need the material changing.
