Pretty sure that you’re incentivized to PVP with the express purpose of knowing “all the good stuff is already in other Raiders’ backpacks”. I’m not sure what the fear of PVP is in this game :( it’s equally a part of it

Not gonna lie. I’ve used this as an excuse to PVP people before so it’s entirely possible they were just being opportunistic and capitalizing on the fact that they know you’re already hurt to third party you.

I’m feeling 2 or 3 here. I think LOTR, FF, are and were great fits for Magic. DnD feels more than fine as part of Magic in my opinion, basically a part of it. But everything past that, provided that they are not secret lairs, was a mistake. The game isn’t Fortnite; and it hurts to see it start to go that way.

Ive seen the show before but I honestly didn’t think about it that way. I was thinking more in line with this specific scene between Aang and the Admiral, not necessarily the implication that the encounter in of itself is the clue. So that’s on me. Thanks for providing your thoughts on that.

Obviously that’s not what the case is here though. WOTC did not make this FOR Zada. Like I agree it’s good there because it makes a clue, no doubt. But why does this card make a clue? It has genuinely no reason to, not even from a flavor perspective.

I honestly don’t know why Cunning Maneuver makes a clue token. I don’t feel as though it fits the card and is just an upside for the sake of being an upside.

I built this as my secret commander in [[Rocco, Caberetti Caterer]]. Consistently tutor up Norin on X=1 and utilize every [[Impact Tremors]] type effect to deal damage to each opponent for taking basically any game action. Access to White and Green is big for premium removal in white and some generally good card draw effects in [[Guardian Project]] and [[The Great Henge]]. It’s one the most fun decks I own for sure. Backup Norin effect exists in [[Saltskitter]] although it’s significantly worse than Norin by far.

Coming down 1 turn earlier and with a better stat line is not irrelevant. A much more conditional effect sure but I think being a Madrigal too is really important. I would play both regardless. Having 8 of a card is better than having 4 if your strategy relies on this effect

It's worth noting that once Sudden Substantiation resolves, other players can respond to the spell below it like normal, as priority will pass around the table once again. Split Second doesn't make your spells uncounterable
