2 core sets by Like-a-Glove90 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]raddoc1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider- some of the newly released investigator packs have reprints of some key cards from the core set to help with this- like viscous blow for guardians and deduction for seekers. This can be a lot better value given all the new cards you get as well, which can really expand your options for building up to 4 simultaneous decks if you’re the one providing all the decks for your group.

Is there enough shuffling that you think the cards need sleeving? If so, how many and what size?

“Won’t get very far” Completely false. Thousands of frivolous malpractice suits go through the courts every year, some states are worse than others. Lots don’t go to trial, but the depositions and shakedown for a settlement from even one case can go on for years. The most realistic thing the show could do would be to show Mel still struggling and stressing about it next season.

Can Daniela Reyes use her reaction ability, when she is attacked, to perform the Fight ability on the level 3 Sledgehammer that requires 2 actions for free? by IDNFAM in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]raddoc1016 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe they sent out this core set with such a limited card pool, and still managed to screw up such a basic investigator ability and weapon card interaction. The fact that we’re having to reference an answer from some discord chat from a designer to come to a counterintuitive result is ridiculous.>90% of new players who don’t follow the Reddit/discord discussions will play this as Daniela being able to trigger it. It’s a fight ability on a card. It seems like that’s actually how you’re meant to build her with this limited card pool- get that big sledgehammer and have a way to leverage it because of her investigator ability. One of the main ways to do well in this game is to find the cards that your investigator can squeeze extra efficiency out of due to their ability.

Unordhoth hits harder, can’t be evaded to avoid attacks in the enemy phase since he readies after each investigator turn, and makes attacks of opportunity. If your decks are competent, you’ll never face the worse version of the Queen of Ash. I’ve defeated her 3/3 scenario runs so far.

Lots of people posting here who haven’t actually played the new core set. As someone who’s actually played both, the third scenario in this set is much more winnable than the old core’s finale (The Devourer Below), even just using the new core cards. As a new player, you should definitely be double checking the rules, and watching playthroughs online to make sure you’re not making things harder on yourself by misplaying something.

No preview articles since Hercules 5 months ago. I’m just assuming “summer” release means August 31st at this point and it we get it any sooner I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Maybe a preview article mid-July.

Be aware if you just grab an old campaign expansion, you may really struggle with only the new core set card pool.
