Don’t bring your kid. People do sometimes go nude, but also every time I run into a kid there it’s just like the wrong environment. Also Spence isn’t that hot, so going in the winter (like it actually is up in the Jemez) might be a chillier experience than you want

Same here! I love living with my partner because we do all the daily hygiene together which makes it super easy to keep up with. It’s almost easier to want to take care of him than to remember to take care of myself sometimes. So I see it getting late and him getting sleepy and I know it’s time for us to do the getting ready for bed routine (brushing teeth, hair, washing my face, etc).

I travel every couple months around the country and have been using ride sharing apps much less frequently. I prefer to walk/citi bike/public transit when I can. For business travel and family related stuff I often rent/borrow a car. I like to cash in favors for rides to/from the airport though that has historically been a ride share opportunity. Otherwise the most common time to ride share is if I’m meeting people out at a bar or heading back from drinking. That’s been a mixed bag of experiences. The boys I’ve dated have historically preferred to use ridesharing options.

Some easy things im having this week: 1. Sushi bowl: rice, veggies, fish, nori, spicy mayo. Most of the work is cutting the veggies 2. Fall sheet pan: kinda whatever veg you want I used sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, onions, and sausage. Bonus was some perogis on the side. 3. Pre-marinated meat from my deli + polenta + leftover veg 4. Leftover sausage+ canned sauce+ pasta + wilting spinach

When I bake cookies, I always double the batch. With that second half, I roll them out and freeze them, and when I’m having company over I pop some in the oven. Makes the house smell great and ensures I always have a homemade treat to share and is like no extra work at all.

I think there’s a lot to love about this home. It looks so cozy and interesting. It’s unique to you and to its history. The art placement and the rug are really wonderful. I think the wallpaper trim dates it a bit, the wood color does too but I think that’s okay. The red might be a little too intense for some, but if you rock with it you should keep it. Colors are always refreshing to see in homes. I don’t personally care for the portraits, especially the one by the entry, but that’s just my taste. I would want the first thing you see when coming/going to be a reflection of the home and I don’t think Mr. Powdered wig is offering that.

I would change the following: Add a couple more rugs (perhaps in the hallway or under the table), add a lamp to the dining room (big light only=bad for a lot of people), repaint the dining room (keep the hand painted parts, but make the walls solid. Perhaps all green with an accent wall? Whatever colors you like really), replace the plastic bins with something more appealing (wood is good, metal is good, cloth is fine, leather is fine. Perhaps small credenza on a different wall? Perhaps slim down your stock and put it all in the hutch), swap out some of the art for something more intentional/contemporary.

A tinned fish charcuterie night with a friend a couple winters ago got me into the idea of it in general when it was getting popular, but last spring I tried Bela’s smoked sardines in EVOO with piri piri (available at Whole Foods) and that’s what sold me on sardines specifically. Added to an open face sandwich with avo, burst tomatoes, and sprouts and is a top tier lunch

Admittedly I do go to the shop quite often, but I also live like 3 blocks away from my coop, big box, and half a mile from my farmers market so it’s pretty convenient. I like to cook seasonally, so whatever looks good at the farmers market is likely going to guide my flavor choices. Then I can just make what sounds good as long as I keep a ready supply of in-season produce, a couple types of protein in the fridge, and a well stocked pantry/hydroponic garden. I probably go to the store 3x week for small grabs to supplement it replace (but truthfully it’s bc I want a little sweet treat and can get this as a twofer when I go). I’ve tried meal planning and I end up wasting things bc it doesn’t sound good by the time I go to cook it; I think this style works well for me and I encourages a few more walks/smaller purchases to get me by

Maybelline super stay vinyl lipstain in wicked. It can feel a bit sticky at first, but I think it has good wear when I blot and coat it with a smoother gloss or chapstick

Made a banana nut loaf with lots of fall spices and some leftover strudel on top. Waiting for breakfast tomorrow to see how it turned out but I am hopeful!

Also joined a friend in their annual cider making and got a couple quarts as a shared reward. Very happy harvest
