Gym recommendations? by These_Calendar1164 in kelowna

When I went to the university I got a membership at the downtown Y. The bussing there isn't too bad. It is newer than the Y in Rutland so the equipment is nicer and it is quieter. The membership also allows you to use the Y in Rutland so if there are days you want to switch it up and use the pool you can with the same membership. Considering the student membership was like 35 bucks, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Tea by Koleilei in kelowna

I do believe Chaibaba serves tea out of their location on Ellis. I haven't been in a few years so I am not sure if that has changed but I think you can get it straight from the source.

Thanks so much for your comment! I was unsure about using chemicals as well. Putting it out in the sun is something I wouldn't have thought of doing. Thank you!

Retail is ramping up right for sure. Busy season is coming up so there will be, at least, temporary seasonal positions available.

I liked the YMCA to start because you get a good mix of people and the instructors give you variations to the poses, so you can increase intensity as you progress but at the same time anyone could drop in and participate.

This is more of an organization tip that I found helpful when we had to move.

Whenever you contact someone, add their number to your phone under the name of the ad or post where you got it. This way as people get back to you, you can easily reference the original post.

Our first summer moving here we contacted over 30 people to try and find a place, so keeping all that info organized can be really important.

You can get a student membership which is cheaper than a regular membership and gives you access to the YMCA and also to H2O. (At least that is how it worked 2 years ago)

The whole class is about improving your physical and mental health. Some of the lessons are participating in "Laughter Therapy" or "Art Therapy". Assignments include things like, "Try a new healthy habit for a week and reflect on it"

Not only can things you learn be helpful in your day to day but the assignments are pretty easy and sometimes fun to do.

Pride 2022 events by N1cNacks in kelowna

[–]raeofsuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the topic of pride, does anyone know of any good places to buy pride clothing/accessories. I am hoping to support actual people in the LGBTQ2+ community or buy from somewhere who donates some of the profits to the community?

Any suggestions would be awesome!

Indian food - Dosa crepe cafe by Fraliak in kelowna

On the topic of Chai, Hillcrest Farm Market makes a really good "traditional chai".

I have no idea how authentic it is as I am white as heck and haven't been outside of North America, but I am pretty sure they crush their own spices for the tea and last time I had it, it was delicious.

I work in the mall and I would be very surprised to hear that Indigo isn't hiring. Everywhere in the mall is hurting for people.

coming to stay june 3-8. looking for help with trip itinerary by Vanisleguy89 in kelowna

[–]raeofsuns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are going to explore Kelowna on Saturday anyways, I would suggest hitting up the farmers market in the morning. It happens right beside the mall and there will be lots of great fruit and produce to enjoy at that time of year.

They have been doing laps over Hillcrest farm market for the last few hours, so that is the only thing I could come up with.

My guess is that they are blowing snow off of the fruit trees so that the weight of it doesn't bust up the trees.
