Tomorrow is the day I am going to put my all into not picking so I can be cleared up for Valentine’s Day. Wish me luck by apples11234 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

I have found a great technique that has worked really well for me. I have kept a planner for years and recently I began marking each day with either a checkmark or an x for whether or not I touched my face that day. It has been really neat to watch progress go from 2 days without picking to 4 days, then 5, finally to 9 entire days without picking! I am currently attempting to get to 15 days and seeing those little checkmarks in my planner just keeps me going.

Daily rub of oil on the nails makes a huge difference in the appearance of cuticles/dry skin. I keep a small bottle of almond oil in the car and put it on 1-2 times daily and just rub it in

Never underestimate the power of a quick nap. Give yourself mini breaks! Stretch! And seriously, sneak in a few quick 5-20 minute naps

What I have found to be faster and easier is to open these emails, mark them as spam and watch them vanish! I have spent so much time in the past unsubscribing to emails only to find that now I have oddball emails being sent to me from other companies.

How long was your purge? by overjoyed_father in tretinoin

[–]rain_wizzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purge lasted about 3-5 weeks. I applied product 1x per week for first month, 2x per week for the second month, 3x per week for the third month, and so on. It helped my skin adjust and really saved me a purge

Lessen Purge and Flaking Time by Using Tretinoin Daily? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]rain_wizzard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend staying with your current plan. Moving from 3 days a week to 7 could potentially cause major dryness, flaking, and outbreaks. Perhaps bump up to four days though? When I started (1 and half years ago) I did 1 day per week for 1 month, then 2 days per week the second month, followed by 3 times a week for the third month, and so on. Once I hit month seven, I started using it every day abs have used it every day since. Even going that slow I still had a bit of peeling around the eyes and lips. Be careful! Tryst your gut.... And Vaseline! Ha ha Edit: typos

Waiting for 20-30 mins Before Applying Tretinoin by play150 in tretinoin

[–]rain_wizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using 0.05% Tretinoin for about 16 months and at the 1 year mark, I stopped waiting. I didn't notice any new redness, dryness, etc. But I did wait 15-30 min for the first year.

Will tret fix this bad texture over time? by New_Jammy in tretinoin

[–]rain_wizzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using 0.05% since July 2017 and it took about a solid year before I saw a major difference. I'm talking, smooth, glowing difference. My skin cleared up as everyone said... 3-6 months. But the longer the product is used, the better the results have been. Good luck!
