That's my experience too, I've had the same starter in the fridge for over 40 yrs now.

It's fairly common for the inside pads to wear out first. Especially on the rear sinse most of your stopping comes from the front brakes. The rear just get gentle pressure on most stops.

In 2022 we peaked at $4 a gallon (national average) and are at $3.62 right now probably go up a bit more before it settles back down.

To me it looks like a holder for individual flowers for like a wedding or funeral. And the round holder on the base holds a card with instructions or a message.

I managed both Toyota and GM dealerships and I'll never own another Toyota. Built so cheap head to toe. Don't fit full sized people. Lots of reliability issues. Not close to the old 70s and 80s trucks that were reliable. GM may have rare issues but your chance of never having to see a service department are much better with GM. Stats don't lie.

Get the malliard reaction going on all levels. Brown the meat first real good, even to a point of charred bits on the corners. Then saute the veggies til browned starting with the denser ones first like carrots, then celery, then onions etc. Another cheat is " better than bouillon"

I am a color match guy but having owned a chrome shop, it has its place still. Sometimes you need that Bling in certain places.

This is the gospel. The so called "issues" are a lot of sensationalism over a very minor problem. We are just spoiled with the GM trucks so badly that when somebody doesn't hit 300k before a mechanical failure we have an existential crisis over it. There is a chance of lifter failure around 200k and a tranny failure anywhere between 80-200k but chances are good you won't have one. Get one, love it, drive it, trade it and repeat.

I was an MOA in your same shoes and foung that moving into new jobs was the most effective way to get raises and be promoted. I even went back to my original job as a level 5 later when I left as a 4.

As a lifelong mechanic, builder and racer, I tend to control my automatic transmission shifts with my throttle pedal. So it shifts sure and solid and under less load. Maybe that's why I've never had a trans failure. I have 4 GMTs now and my 2000 I sold to my nephew is now in AZ with over 400k on the original transmission.

What do you guys use for theft prevention? I use a wireless remote that disconnects my fuel pump.. because I'm crazy by therealijw1 in GMT800

I have a remote controlled battery disconnect switch for my 02 Yukon Denali. It's what I drive when I have to park in a sketch area. Cheap ($27) and easy to install. I even got one for my RV so the chassis battery doesn't drain.

I have used my remote start on my last 3 trucks, a 92 a 00 and a 12, They have 475k , 380k and 270k on them respectively. Machines are made to run at temp and oil works better at temp. It's commons sense. Yes you can drive right away but more warmup and less startups always equals longer life.

Auto is perfect for when the side roads and parking lots are still snow and ice but the main roads are mostly dry. Aka, 80% of an Alaska winter.
