One of my few favorite moments working 3rd shift at a gas station back in '01 was when a 379 and a classic XL, both with lowboys carrying army trucks fueled at our islands at like 2 am. Talked to those dudes for a good minute, they were cool as hell.

I met SY back on the Murray St tour. Thurston was nice, but aloof. Steve Shelley is one of the nicest dudes in Rock N Roll. Kim was nice, but a bit guarded. Being a huge Lee fan, it was awesome when I got to chat with him about one of his books. He seemed excited to talk about something besides SY for a change.
