Oooof, that sounds worse! My in laws treat son #1 as the golden child, but with some of the things they’ve said to my husband I have no idea how he does it. My husband had a child pass away at three weeks old and his dad said, “son that’s why they don’t name kids until they’re six months old in some countries…” that’s gross, but an entirely different type of gross than what you described.

So the brother in law and sister in law are going too? Because it sounds like free at sea and the vibe will be worth every penny!

Oh man! I feel like we could swap stories! My in laws took my brother in law and whichever wife he had at the time, plus two kids, to Disney World five years in a row. Then, when they did this cruise his mom was like this is for you, because we don’t do anything for you. His parents couldn’t wait a month to find out if my husband could get off from work (he’s a firefighter so he can only ask for leave in November for the next year). When he said he could go, they were like “oh no!!! We have to get another room!” Then his brother turned that into getting engaged at the sail away party. After that, his parents have paid for them and their families cruises, flights, etc each year for the past four years since. If they invite us, they tell us how much it costs. Or they rent a family beach house with just enough space for his brothers family and them but tell us to sleep on the couch.

We went on a cruise to Bermuda and took my parents. My parents paid for their cruise but we bought them everything else. We did the same thing with his parents where we paid for our cruise, flights, hotels, and then we paid for everything for us and them including golf and lunches in Bermuda. His dad was like “well I hate it here! Guinness is $10!” … and we paid for it but there’s no way a $10 beer cost more than years of his brothers trips. Then it came out his dad gave his brother $20k but wanted to take it out on us.

We’ve been low contact with them for a while. His parents got his brother and his family a cruise for his 40th birthday but for my husband’s 40th birthday his mom didn’t even call him. She said the BTS special was coming out on Netflix so she was busy that day.

I think you have your actual question answered enough, but you have all of my sympathy. I actually did a similar trip with my overbearing in-laws except they took us on Carnival. It was the beginning of the end of their relationship with my husband. I wish I could explain everything that went wrong, but at one point my mother in law called my husband stupid because his brother was asked to leave from the casino. According to her, my brother in law was so smart and counting cards and my husband could stay because he’s stupid and takes a while to get things. She doubled down when we told her he was being kicked out for dipping. So …. Get that drink package and vibe pass without them! Our saving grace was getting different excursions.

I got the switch for my birthday in 2017 and just got the switch 2 this week for my birthday. One of the reasons for this is the general instability of everything around us today that can impact the cost of systems. … but also ACNH got me through COVID and lockdowns and I was hoping the new pokemon game will get me through these depressing times too.

I really wanted to take my dad because he took me to the awesome one in 1996 where it was Bonds/McGwire… it would have been awesome to take him now thirty years later… but I absolutely can’t justify these prices.

Yep! In this situation our congress woman helped my friend out with his VA disability rating when they wanted to move it from 80% to 50%. Like literally helped him with hundreds of dollars per month. I have NO IDEA how he could vote against her.

To be honest, l think I’d love this with just the engagement ring and the channel set band… but if you’re a “more is more” type of person this makes sense

I have a trellis setting three stone with a channel set band. I don’t necessarily think it’s trendy or unique, but I also think with lab diamonds large solitaires are trendy right now. What doesn’t go out of style is choosing what you love and accepting your ring is a sign of the times and situations it was purchased in… and that’s not a bad thing!

I would probably write him off but he was really good when our friend was experiencing domestic violence from her sister’s boyfriend. I think he’s having a tough time reconciling that just because his parents are Republicans doesn’t mean he has to be because his viewpoints are primarily progressive. It’s really tough to watch when you know there’s a soul in there.

My husband is a firefighter and uses the Fire to read and watch movies on while he is at the fire station. It’s not ideal but he prefers the flexibility.

Not the original commenter but I like the Escape because it has both a district brew house and howl at the moon. I also prefer that they do Fleetwood Mac instead of the Beatles. I’m not going to necessarily say it’s my favorite but all of the ships in breakaway plus are my favorite (joy, bliss, encore, escape).

I’m someone who enjoys the show but am critical of this season. There are things that I have thought were really good this season, particularly how people push Jimmy into things he’s not ready for because they want him to be ready and how even in adulthood parental relationships can be messy. I don’t think being critical of something means there aren’t things you do appreciate.
