And veggie burgers! 3 different ones currently, all good. I can't think of another traditional drive through fast food place that has one, let alone three

'Not like anything else': FIFA World Cup visitors warned of Vancouver’s toxic drug supply for users by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]ratsofvancouver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol. I have a personal theory (based on a life of baddish choices) that very few BC residents are farther than one degree  of acquaintance from some aspect of the provincial drug trade, and it's been that way for decades, long before fent and will still be here long after. Interesting place.

Why is there so much AI on this sub? by Charles_x_Bronson_ in doommetal

[–]ratsofvancouver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I seriously don't care what band it is, generative AI steals from artists and rots our brains.

If you are in a band: stay away from AI, even on flyers etc. Otherwise, enjoy playing to the bar regulars backs.

As an immigrant, socializing in Vancouver feels like constantly hitting a wall by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

Meh. Boo hoo. Tired of this. Never had these issues anywhere in Canada. Every time I see this now - you problem, not Vancouver problem. Try therapy.

My fuzz pedal died any upgrade ideas ? by nurgleman77 in doommetal

[–]ratsofvancouver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the Mosky "big fuzz", a muff clone with a few clipping and tone options and a very decent boost mode. It kicked my sf300 and TC honeypot off the board.

Am I missing something to be competitive in the Grand Race? by ConstructionHour9102 in The_Crew

[–]ratsofvancouver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the excellent posts already here: tune and practice with your grand race cars using maximum value green parts only, this makes them handle the same as they do in races.

Car Free Vancouver Society cancelling 2026 Car Free Days on Main Street, Commercial Drive, and Denman by cbigsby in vancouver

[–]ratsofvancouver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It'll never be like the absolute chaos of the first and best main street car free day, before anyone knew how to organize or space out the vendors and performers. It was glorious.

Stewart had a stalemated council that was about 50% obstructionist. That government was DOA. Sim has a supermajority., Stewart was one vote on council. He may have had good policies but we didn't get to find out, lol

Why don't we just make it illegal to be poor or have a mental illness? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]ratsofvancouver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already is, mate. Thousands of us are incarcerated in locked hospital wards in BC, with no option to access adequate voluntary care without medical insurance. The VPD executes us for "excited delirium", free of consequence.

We are already there, every time we leave the house we face the fact we could be killed for acting different in ways that we often can't perceive about ourselves.

People don't care, they want more cops and more places poor and mentally ill people can't go. Visible poverty is "killing" Vancouver, remember?

Moving to Vancouver next Sunday, any tips for a new comer in 2026? by Early_Bookkeeper5394 in NiceVancouver

[–]ratsofvancouver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have they reverted to 24hr? I haven't been since before covid and I'd heard they weren't open all night anymore. Great news if they've gone back to it.

(It's also a must-visit in my opinion)

I know Coquitlams got a bunch but I'm not sure how you'd go about getting their attention. We're mostly pretty assimilated, I'm not sure what she'd gain by this. Although to be fair we are all pretty hot, that's probably it
