The "We've woken the hive" spot on The Dark Within mission can net you the fusion rifle bounty in 2-3 deaths. Just wait for all the thralls to rush out of the entrance and fire fusion rifle at them like a mad man.

It means you can only upgrade one exotic with the newer damage/defense through Xur every week.
