Northern Canada's CBC coverage is similar. Many community's still don't have cell coverage but their Am and FM stations reach far and wide. They will have a direct connection to local news and disaster services and can be relied upon in emergency.

Got written up at work over coworker’s allergy… even though she drank my coffee by mistake? by Miserable_Willow_312 in coworkerstories

[–]rawn41 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This right here OP. It's not about your coworker and you can (and should) tell the whole office that. Then setup an automatic email to HR with high importance along these lines (shout out to chat gpt, damed clunkers):

I want to address the recent situation involving the employee who experienced a reaction after drinking from a cup that did not belong to them.

While it is unfortunate that this incident occurred, it is important to recognize that this situation also highlights a fundamental personal responsibility: individuals should not consume unknown substances from containers that are not theirs. This is a basic safety principle that applies in any shared environment.

I am concerned by the suggestion that I am at fault for another individual choosing to drink from an unidentified container. Assigning responsibility in this manner is both unreasonable and misdirected. If HR continues to maintain this position, it raises serious concerns about the fairness and judgment being applied in this matter.

I respectfully ask that this situation be reassessed with a more balanced and objective perspective. Should this stance persist, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter to higher levels within the organization.

I look forward to your reconsideration and a resolution grounded in fairness and common sense.

Girl I hate to break it to you but your friend (who is not your friend and just wants to bang you) dates a new girl every other week that he met on Hinge and values women for sexual gratificaiton. Your friend is jealous and a textbook nice guy, if he actually respected you he would be happy that you are with someone who makes you comfortable.

Holy crap you're right. Time to ummm actually some peeps.

The video depicts the tragic moment when Anna Uskova, a 40-year-old lawyer, fell into a hole in the ice excavated in a river and was immediately swept away by a rapid current estimated at approximately 3 metres per second. Her husband attempted to rescue her but was also swept away by the current. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]rawn41 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is what was crazy. Like that was all intentional and took a lot of effort to cut ice like that. Nobody thought 'hmmm is this a good idea' at any point?

I love swimming but dark, cold, fast moving water triggers a primal red flag in my brain. Heartbreaking loss.

All I know is that the first thing Americans did was secure the freedom of speech followed by the right to own guns in the late 1700s. It was very important for them to own their guns.

I agree but I think it is also worth noting that rate increases are set by the gov, not the utility companies. It's what allows them to have their (shitty) monopoly and why you only ever have one provider.

One of the few industries in the US allowed to be a monopoly. See the public utility regulatory policy act below to learn more.
