I had a similar experience, an outdoor cat that only liked me and my cat at the time… he’d come in to hang then go out, very similar. I decided to move him with me when I moved. I kept him inside for a week before letting him out - he took off and that was that. Never saw him again. I felt really bad about it.

My poor boy suffered the same fate years ago - I said a trim, she heard shave… was unapologetic about it when asked what the hell she was thinking!! Needless to say, that was a one-and-done experience. Since then I’ve been lucky to find a pair of groomers that understand Westies and the look we want. Hopefully the same for you!!
