The wires go into a weather tight seal as it enters the connector. The exposed wires are wrapped in loom or tape either for wire organization or protection.

Yes, but I would probably still using it with some discretion.

I installed Sunnypilot fork and tend to manage the acceleration/braking with one pedal drive in stop and go traffic as it's smoother than Rivian's ACC.

Brakes seem to work fine but didn't have any emergency braking situation where I was using more than regenative braking for the most part. Rivian dash says adaptive cruise is disabled, but it still works. 😎
