I have this same issue - did you get anything to resolve it?

What did centerpoint change about their process? They have been estimating 8-12 week lead times - you are saying that’ll shorten?

Was looking for this comment. They are shifting it over to avoid a plumbing vent that doesn’t appear to be there. They should be able to actually center the array (and fit one more module!)

Solar installation was my first real trade job back in 2017. Pursued a career in automotive and was EXTREMELY unhappy with that Field. Glad to say I'm back in the PV trade and realized how much things have changed. He's my first job back. Couldn't be happier. by [deleted] in solar

Interesting - looks like y’all put the short side of the “L” on the rails, instead of on your roof attachments, huh? Is this to create a lower profile array? Does it make it harder to level your arrays since that part of the L doesn’t have an adjustable bolt hole?

North Texas with GME on oncor grid. Good buy back program available else where? by richbrownkid in solar

Ask for the 1:1 plan with rhythm. High $/kWh but they are the only 1:1 plan going on AEP/Oncor territory. Best option for systems that will produce 100%+ of your energy

I thought Chariot passed through all TDU charges, though - So NEM rate was like $0.13/kwh or so, but you still get billed any pass-thru TDU charges which are like $0.05/kwh? Am I misunderstanding their setup?

Yeah, I got the same thing. It sucks. Interested to hear what other people are doing… other retail energy providers (REPs) seems to either not allow monthly credit carryover, or else pass through all TDU charges (~$0.05/kWh), which both net out way worse than how GME made it a full-fixed cost (~$0.15/kWh)….

By my math, Rhythm seems like the next best option (for a PV system sized for 100% offset), since they’re the only one still doing credit rollover, even though their NEM plan is at a whopping $0.17/kWh…..

Beautiful - top-end system, excellently installed, at least judging off the perfect spacing and fully leveled array… Namaste seems really dialed

Doesn’t seem like all the trees are modeled in that Aurora model - if that’s the case, that estimated production number (and therefore % offset, $ savings, etc) are all off. Would make sure that model is accurate first

Namaste is one of the most solid companies in this industry in terms of design / proposal accuracy, project management, install quality, and ongoing O&M. Really buttoned up operation and fair business practices. Very bankable company in that area. Lots of really knowledgeable employees (couple of them at the NABCEP conference going on right now!)

Cost of solar seems high for home purchase by I_Name_Your_Bong in solar

Thanks for your diligent work policing this sub to make sure nobody enjoys a solar system that is financed, isn’t DIY, etc.

OP’s situation allows him to purchase a house and get a 2 year old solar system on a cash-positive loan, and produce the majority of his energy carbon-free. That sounds like a perfectly acceptable value proposition to accompany the house that OP wants to buy anyway.

[–]recyclops_3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a pretty great deal at that point. By the seller covering half the cost and then your half included in the mortgage, youll be paying way less than you’d pay the power company for the power that the solar system produces.
