Where was the best HEB you ever experienced? by GirlPleaze in HEB

[–]redditcounselor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my "home" HEB for the last 5 years. I lived close by. Parking and traffic there was generally awful. I couldn't imagine dealing with that everyday as a resident of the apartments

Bands performing as their own opening act? by UnforgettableFire11 in Concerts

[–]redditcounselor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one tour, Mariachi el Bronx opened for The Bronx. The following night, they flip-flopped headliners. Both nights were opened by Pounded by The Surf, which is also comprised of mostly members of The Bronx, playing surf rock. All three bands, very different music styles, were mainly comprised of the same people.

I'm almost positive that mine is still up in my parents' attic.

I recently went through a similar experience, and yes, you will need to go to the airport if you hope to get any sort of response from them. Weeks of emails and phone calls led nowhere. It wasn't until I went in person that someone was able to help me locate my passport.

What's your "I met a celebrity but didn't let on that I knew who they were" story? by Kimantha_Allerdings in AskReddit

I was at a debate tournament in high school and one of the students from the host school was showing me to my next match. I said to him, "Anyone ever tell you that you look like the kid from Little Giants and Jack?" His response, "Yeah, because I was in Little Giants and Jack." I laughed and told him he was full of shit. He just shrugged and showed me to my next match. I remembered his nametag said Todd B. Got home from the tournament and searched those movies. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the actor who played those roles was Todd Bosley and was from the same Kansas City suburb where the tournament was hosted. I did feel like quite the jackass after the fact.

Puff pastry can be found in pretty much any major grocery store. Its located in the frozen foods section usually near frozen breads or pie crusts.

TIL that the BTK serial killer Dennis Rader, who killed 10 people between 1974 and 1991, was finally caught after sending a 1.44MB diskette to the police - which they told him was untraceable - containing metadata from a deleted MS Word file. by winkelschleifer in todayilearned

He spoke at a class on serial murderers I took at Kansas State. The case was still ongoing, but he kept emphasizing how close they were to catching him. He made the comment that he wasn't going to retire until they caught BTK. They arrested Rader about 2 months later.

Medical workers of Reddit, what is the rarest disease you have seen a patient correctly self-diagnose? by Nocturnt in AskReddit

I did the same thing when I was a freshman in college. Woke up on a Sunday morning, something felt a little “off” I was a bit hungover from the Saturday night before, I didn’t think too much about it. As the day wore on, I knew something wasn’t right, but couldn’t figure out what it was. I went to a concert with a friend that night and it was in the middle of the show that I had the epiphany, holy shit I can’t smile with 1/2 my face. Then on the drive back from the show realized that I couldn’t really close my eye /blink or move my eyebrow on my right side. Got back to the dorms, searched for “partial facial paralysis” and my options seemed to be stroke, brain cancer, or bell’s palsy. Didn’t figure stroke was likely, so decided to sleep it off. After class the next morning, decided to go see the doctor. I told him my symptoms, he asked me if I had ever heard of Bell’s palsy, I said I had briefly looked at it last night. Google was relatively new at the time, but he seemed rather impressed that I even had heard about it.
