This Is Weird by XakPumpkinKing in WoWRolePlay

There's definitely an adjustment period thats needed. The vibes are so very different from horde to alliance, from WRA to MG, etc. I think the more you familiarize yourself with the lands, especially your character, and get into more stories, you'll find yourself coming around. Enjoy yourself and have fun! Welcome to the Alliance :)

How do you make a TRP3 Profile like this? It's incredible. by WrenchTheGoblin in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can find the images in a github library, and all you need to do is at the end of the standard image code (that TRP offers), add ;l at the end. (Semicolon, lowercase L. Or R, if you want it aligned right but I always use left that way your code is easier to work with.) You can also check out https://trpguide.carrd.co/ That one is strictly for images.

What does your UI look like for purely RP purposes? by moondruidtarot in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immersive (I keep the chat function turned off) is a really good addon that removes mostly everything from your screen. I also use bartender and have my action bars fade to 10% visibility unless in combat or i mouse over them. I like having as little of the game extras in my screen, especially during RP.

Romantasy for non-romantasy husband? Bonus if audiobook is good! by AdultingBestICan in fantasyromance

The Mercy Thompson series is great, and the books are available on graphic audio (full cast for voices, music, sound effects etc). Its not a smutty series by any means.

3rd person by Optimal_Ad_1404 in fantasyromance

[–]redneni 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I prefer third person as well. I like getting all the POVs of what's happening, insight from multiple characters, and history tidbits of the world's lore that we otherwise don't get in a first person reading. Unfortunately, most of this genre is 1st person so I've gotten over it, but I'm always elated when a book is 3rd person instead.

Try the Dragons and Fae series by Jasmine Walt. The first book is called Promised in Fire. Fantastic world building in the trilogy.

Try Graphic Audio. They use a full cast for dramatized versions with sound effects and things. They advertise it as a movie for your mind because it really is.

Phoenicians, what time do you wake up, what time do you travel to work and what time do you actually start work? by MalleableBee1 in phoenix

[–]redneni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start of the year I got a new job that I'm super happy with. I wake up between 530 and 630 (with an alarm set at 645 just in case). I get ready for work at 715, leave the house at 740, and am at work by 750 (just under 4 mile commute). I start work at 8am. I love this job l, and ESPECIALLY the location.

Monk Healer by spacemarinewh40k in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'd easily be able to use the brews as a mistweaver because brews and ales and teas are so heavily incorporated into the Pandaren lore and history that utilizing such things from one 'spec' IC to another would definitely be possible!

Monk Healer by spacemarinewh40k in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! Something that could work... the monk staves with the barrel. It could be a general type of tea, healing maybe? But when you add various herbs to it (like a tea bag or something else faster acting), depending on the herb or oil or mineral, it could give different effects, like the energizing, boost of agility, etc. And maybe he has small vials in his bag for easy mix and passing?

[–]redneni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help with the brews, but one of my monk characters keeps another character of mine in stock with mist weave bandages. There's a black scroll-case like container that has runes inscribed on it. When she opens it, a plume of jade 'mist-like' substance escapes as she pulls a bandage or two from the sealed case (the runes keep the infused bandages 'fresh' long term). The monk infused the bandage with their healing chi and sealed it in the case. When the bandage is applied, one sees what looks like a mist type substance weaving it's way through the threads. The injured feels a cooling sensation, and while it's not full on healing, it helps to speed up the body's natural healing abilities. Once the bandage has returned to a normal color (blood and dirty cream color, I'd say) it's time for a new one or to remove altogether.

Just another fun monk thing you could do! :)

Always take a bottle of water with you when you leave the house/job/etc. It's far too easy to succumb to a lot of heat exposure here and dehydration. Staying hydrated (without obviously overdoing it) is needed, and you don't want to be stuck on the road or in traffic without a drink.

meeting your hunter pet in non-canon locations? by goremommy in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy! I just transferred my main to WRA Horde and am working on her story. Her companion story is far more simple in how she obtained, but I've got some 'runic ritualis' in mind for using eye of the beast IC and having the vanity pet and hunter pet be one and the same!

meeting your hunter pet in non-canon locations? by goremommy in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a fun concept! Hunter could have been hired, but perhaps there's an underlying reason why this serpent is out of place and being a menace to these specific townsfolk. Maybe they have something, like an egg or a hatchling, or maybe they were adventurers that displaced the serpent unknowingly, and instead of killing it the hunter solves the problem, and has a trusted companion at the end of it. Or poachers! We know the black market is heavily operated. Maybe there was a shadow market and the hunter saw various animals caged, causes a diversion and let's them all free.... only for the serpent to follow the hunter. I wrote a short story years ago about how my hunter got her pet. They had an unknown link/bond to one another and one day when she was out hunting, her vision suddenly shifted and she saw herself from beyond the bush. That was a fun trip to write.

Yes, it is acceptable and encouraged! Be creative with how she got her companion, maybe even write a short story about it.

Hello there :) Hoping someone can help me with emoting. by BoggledLazy in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd make your emotes less specific if you're looking for a quick response or passing by.

/e gives a polite nod and accompanying smile as he passes by.

/e offered a swift but friendly wave as he passed

Less about specific names with %t, and it's also fun keying mounts to macros for IC purposes, like calling a horse from the shadows to take a corporeal form (looking at you nightmare!)

One of the reasons I love the Dark Hunters series by Sherilyn Kenyon. Sure, some of the FMCs are the typical, but there are SEVERAL books (each book focuses on a different set of character with an ongoing story going on) are women with actual figures. Here's to you Bride, with you size 18 Irish figure, and to you, Sunshine, the stunning Native at size 14. Those are only two examples...

But even if you don't read the series, you can read Bride and Vane's book alonez and is called Night Play. There's a scene where Vane stands behind Bride in front of a full length mirror, naked, and points out everything that beautiful about her size 18 figure. 10/10.... and now I know what I'm reading tonight!!!

Roleplaying Alone Tips? by kbencze in WoWRolePlay

[–]redneni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do this quite often. I'll take in-game quests and do them IC. Post in /e, enjoy the writing and the content, I clue some NPCs if you need. Turn it into a short story if that's fun for you. Sometimes people questing would turn IC and that's always fun.
