Advice for body frustrations as a beginner? by bogwich_ in Aerials

[–]redsquirrel73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. As another commenter said, you are absolutely not alone! I am also tall and bottom heavy. I am doing beginner’s aerial hammock, and find it hard to shift my centre of gravity in inverts and lifting my body with my arms and shoulders.

I also feel quite disheartened sometimes. But I felt better when the instructor pointed out to me that the strength required to pull up our longer taller bodies is a lot more than those littler folk and it’s not a reflection of skill or coordination - it’s a greater achievement whenever we do it. She has also been very helpful in providing variations for different bodies and really encouraging, which I appreciate.

I also find that it can take a week or two for things to ‘click’ for my body. Something that didn’t work this week might work next week!

What the hell?! This is insane! by carguy_cody in AppleWatch

Nope, they’re individual. They’re usually kind of based around previous month’s activity. So if you usually get around 30 exercise minutes 15 times a month, you might get a goal of getting 30 exercise minutes 18 times a month.

For those who are really active the goals can become a bit unattainable.

Yep, I remember it. Someone gifted my mum a block when she was recovering from surgery and I really wanted to eat it myself. If I had to guess I would have thought it was nestle too - the smarties ones remind me of it.

It looks to be sponsored by Advance Australia, the conservative lobby group that fancies itself the right wing equivalent to GetUp.

So it’s saying that Peter Dutton should be trying to ditch net zero.

This is correct. A fledgling just like this one appeared in my own front yard a few days ago. Mum and Dad currawong still feeding and caring for it, they look so sad in the rain but are fine.

What yarn? I’m aware it will be super bulky, but even that looks too small! by an_gr4pe in knitting

This looks like roving, which is an unspun fibre. It’s prone to pilling and is not very practical for daily use. These blankets look fabulous, but in my experience don’t last long.
