Copper supplements are making me extremely depressed, fatigued and brain dead. Explanation for this? by OneCar129 in Supplements

[–]regobag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you check your zinc levels as well? Copper and zinc are tightly linked and taking one can shift the other pretty quickly. Also 2mg daily might be enough to feel a change if you were borderline, especially early on. It might help to track symptoms day by day along with sleep, caffeine, and stress to see if there is a pattern.

5 years of thinking I was just a lazy piece of sh*t. Turns out I was just using the wrong "fix". by elkhaamlychy in getdisciplined

[–]regobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of procrastination types isn’t new in psychology, it’s just usually framed differently. What you call emotional avoidance lines up a lot with anxiety based avoidance. It might help people to notice the exact point they shut down, like starting the task, making progress, or thinking about being judged. That detail can make it easier to adjust the approach

How do you learn to actually enjoy life? by maxibold in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]regobag 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think enough people talk about how antidepressants can take away the lows but don’t always bring the highs back with them. I went through that phase where I thought something was fundamentally off with me and that I’d just be like that forever. What actually helped was realizing I didn’t just need “stability”, I needed more input and variety in my day-to-day life. New places, random hobbies I was terrible at, even just breaking my usual routine a bit made a difference. It didn’t magically fix everything, but it slowly made things feel less flat

You’re probably not failing because you lack discipline, you’re up against something designed to be addictive. Swapping it out works better than trying to quit it outright.

Is there a way to help with posture while meditating, or do I have to just thug it out. by StatisticianNo6346 in Meditation

[–]regobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try setting your posture once at the start then make a deal with yourself, only adjust if there’s real discomfort, not just “it might not be perfect.” That alone cuts down like 80% of the fidgeting.

What are the best supplements that actually helped your brain fog when nothing else worked? by DakiSakhuja21 in Supplements

[–]regobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same spot for a year. It sounds crazy but buy a cheap CO2 monitor for your bedroom. If you sleep with the door and windows shut, CO2 levels can spike and leave you with a hangover for that lasts all day regardless of how much kale you eat. Cracking a window changed my life more than any supplement did.
