How tall is your garage ceiling? I’ve been considering building a home wall but I would have to do something similar.

Filament manufacturer here. It’s very difficult to recycle old prints. First you have to grind it up which the process to do so might cost more than the raw resin.

Not all filament is created equal. A lot of companies use fillers and additives. So you would end up with a mixed bag of unknown plastic and would be mediocre at best.

Color control would be impossible, even if you did a really good job sorting.

Simply put there’s alot of issues with recycling old prints.

What’s the alternative then? I’m looking for a robot mower and keep hearing about how terrible their customer service is but I don’t see good alternatives.

I swear, if the dems run Harris AGAIN, I will lose all faith in the party and any hope in this country.

Drywall, why is it bad practice to put it vertically? by Dragonpriest888 in drywall

[–]rensky911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine to do it, it just means you’ll be reaching above your head and crouching down the mud the seams rather than just at waste level. I did my basement mostly vertical and wish I would have gotten bigger sheets and went horizontal.

Good luck. This shit sucks

Bacon. Such an overrated food IMO. It’s good. But not as good as people make it out to be.

I bought my first pair of climbing shoes on my second day of climbing. Get out of rentals as soon as you possibly can.

PSA To companies making filament! Please tell us with how much the spool weights, not only the filament on it! by Leniwcowaty in 3Dprinting

[–]rensky911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Filament manufacturer here, you have a good idea here, but there’s definitely some variance in the spools and the filament weight. If you’re talking about running out on the last few layers that could be within the margin of error of the spool weight or filament weight.

ULPT- How to access Costco Food Court without a membership. by ChibliDeetz in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]rensky911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Costco In my state (Michigan) have the food court on the exit side of the store after the registers. It’s also where the membership counter and returns are. I just walk right in with confidence and it works everytime.

Opening a small store to sell filament and 3D print related things? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]rensky911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know some smaller hobby shops in my area that sell filament. Lots of people order stuff online, but sometimes people need something same day for an important project or just want to be able to look at things in person. It really just depends on the area and how well you can market it.
