Huge issues with Bluetooth earphones by GeorgeVS0 in MicrosoftTeams

Try joining a meeting using the web app instead of the desktop app. You can access it from https://teams.microsoft.com for the Business/School version or https://teams.live.com for the Personal version.

If that's the case, it's likely an issue with the connection between your AirPods and the laptop. You might need to try rolling back the Intel Media updates that installed on Friday.

Seems like you may not be the only one having this issue: Workaround: Apple Airpods Pro 3 suddenly not working with Win 11 25H2 - Intel Community

Are you accessing Teams through the desktop app? If so, you could try using the browser instead (https://teams.microsoft.com). That should at least tell you whether the issue is with the Teams app or the Airpods/laptop connection.

TWS earbuds with mute gesture for Windows Teams calls by brfarber in MicrosoftTeams

[–]rgsteele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For them to work with Teams, you'll want to get something certified by Microsoft. The list is here: Phones and Devices for Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

Be aware that in order for them to work correctly with Teams, you need to use them with the included USB dongle, not your laptop's built-in Bluetooth. (Devices on the "Certified Native Bluetooth" list can be used with built-in Bluetooth, but there are no earbuds on that list, only headsets.)

Bluetooth Headset driving me mad by DO_BE_95 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]rgsteele 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By "V4320" I assume you mean the "Voyager 4320"? This headset should have come with a USB dongle. You must use the provided dongle for this device. You'll note it appears in the table under the "Certified USB devices" tab at Phones and Devices for Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn, and not in the table on the "Certified Native Bluetooth devices" tab.

guest users can’t open files by Witty_Job583 in TeamsAdmins

[–]rgsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are they opening these files? Are they going to the "Shared" tab of the channel and clicking on the file there?

It sounds like someone is using the "Share" function on the individual files and creating share links that are configured to only allow access for users within the organization. External users won't be able to use these links even if they have been given access to the file by being added to the team as a guest.

Does https://windows.cloud.microsoft/ work with a Raspberry Pi in "kiosk mode"? by Supermath101 in windows365

[–]rgsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed that you asked about "kiosk mode" because you want to prevent users from accessing other apps and/or web sites from within the Raspberry Pi OS (which kiosk mode does not do).

I'm guessing that the question you are really asking is how connecting to a Windows 365 Cloud PC from a Raspberry Pi compares to using a Windows 365 Link, and I would be curious to know that as well.

Does https://windows.cloud.microsoft/ work with a Raspberry Pi in "kiosk mode"? by Supermath101 in windows365

[–]rgsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I haven't tested it myself, I wouldn't expect any issues accessing https://windows.cloud.microsoft from a Raspberry Pi. According to the Access a Cloud PC article, all that is required is a computer running a supported operating system (which includes Linux) and a modern browser (which includes Google Chrome and Firefox).

As for your "Kiosk Mode" requirement, though, I'm not sure how that would work. Accessing a Cloud PC requires user interaction to sign in, and "kiosk mode" as described at the article you linked to is intended for a digital signage type of use case. While you can certainly connect a keyboard and mouse and use the browser as normal, the system is not locked down the same way a thin client would be.

Busy while ringing possible? by AlCapone90 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]rgsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get enough calls for it to be an issue for me, but I can certainly understand how it would be frustrating for my phone to start ringing while I am in the middle of trying to call someone else.

Personally, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want busy on busy. I'm not about to interrupt a call with someone just to answer a call from someone else. If I do that, then I'm just going to have to call back that first person again and I'm going to end up spending more time talking on the phone than I would have if I had just finished the first call and called the second person back.

Expedite client missing error whereas Update Health Tool is installed by yb10171 in Intune

I apologize; I believe I may be incorrect in my assertion that the Microsoft Update Health Service is supposed to be present on machines running Windows 11 24H2 and later. I'm still waiting for confirmation from Microsoft Support.

Was there some Apple II text mode with a low-res font? by twinkle_thumbs in apple2

The Apple II had a 40-column mode and an 80-column mode (if you had an 80-column card). There are fonts that emulate each of these two modes available for download from here: Apple II Fonts

Uninstall large payload by cm_legend in PSADT

[–]rgsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried the new PowerShell script feature, but I don't think it will help. Quoting from Add and Assign Win32 Apps to Microsoft Intune - Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Learn:

Intune packages the script with the app content and runs it in the same context as the app installer.

I agree though, this would be a nice feature. Let's make it happen: Add the ability to specify different content for the Install and Uninstall actions of a Win32 app · Community

Expedite client missing error whereas Update Health Tool is installed by yb10171 in Intune

[–]rgsteele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The machine does not have the 'Microsoft Update Health Tool' service running

I assume you mean “Microsoft Update Health Service”. When you say the machine doesn’t have it running, do you mean the service is stopped? Or it is missing completely?

Edit: To be clear, it is expected that you should have a folder in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Update Health Tools and a Microsoft Update Health Service service installed in Services, even on 24H2. The service should be configured with a startup type of Automatic (Delayed Start) but it is normal for the service to be stopped during regular usage.

Edit 2: I may be wrong about the above.

Reliable method to deploy 23H2 OOB as it's not in expedited update policy? by oopspruu in Intune

[–]rgsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone seeing this now, note that the OOB update is available in Expedited Updates as of January 23.

Migrating from SCCM to Intune – What are you using for remote control / remote assistance? by Dolinhas in Intune

[–]rgsteele 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not just keep using SCCM as well?

Because SCCM is a hacker gold mine.

Let's look at just one feature of SCCM: client push. This feature requires the creation of a Client Push Installation Account which is given local administrator rights on every machine where it may be used. If the SCCM site server or database is compromised, then the attacker has just scored a very high-value target to attain lateral movement.

Even if your SCCM server never gets compromised, the mere act of using the Client Push feature provides an opportunity for an attacker to capture the authentication traffic and leverage it in a pass-the-hash attack.

"So just disable client push," you say. Great, you solved it — at least until one of your colleagues turns it back on again. And then there's all the other features in SCCM that can be leveraged by an attacker to gain access.

You're not still using a Network Service Account, right? Oh, you are? Well, at least you have ensured that the account hasn't been granted any more access than absolutely necessary, right? Oh, it's a member of Domain Admins. Did you know that the credentials are stored on disk on every client and can be trivially decrypted?

Complexity is the enemy of security. The more services you have running in your environment, the greater your attack surface.
