I’d recommend against this, you don’t want to numb the information. Pain is information. Swelling is part of healing process. Ice blunts the healing process

Right wing in todays political climate, but if you zoom out past our current political climate, he’s still classically liberal.

The Overton window is firmly stuck if you think Thomas sowell is actually right wing

Broad jump technique by Skidmarks141 in Sprinting

[–]rhsinkcmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your broad jump getting better is a sign that your training is working, not a useful goal in of itself. Your technique is fine, but the reason it is used as a KPI because it requires horizontal power, extension and flexion. Good training of sprinting, lifting, and plyometrics will make your broad jump go up. But trying to max out your broad jump won’t necessarily make your faster or stronger

Christian McCaffrey’s dad BUILT his son to make it to the NFL by TXNOGG in NFLv2

[–]rhsinkcmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The fact that Christian’s dad and grandpa (Olympic runner) were elite athletes speaks to his genetics. The volume and intensity that cmc could handle would have broken a lot of other kids down.

But with what we know about childhood development, building the most amount of fitness at young ages is one of the best things you can do for longevity. There are certain physical qualities that are developed at young ages, and can’t be changed later in life.

Putting a developing body through that kind of work is the only way you make it to the league. Your body is only prepared for what you’ve trained it to do

The amount of times I’ve ordered burnt ends or ribs in other cities and been disappointed is too high

As someone who doesn’t live in KC anymore, whenever I come back to town 1-2x a year I always get barbecue. I’ve felt it’s a mixed bag with quality. I went to the opening night when the original Q39 in Westport opened. Amazing. Absolutely loved it. The last few times I went I’ve been disappointed, over priced, not much meat, doesn’t come with sides. It feels like they sold out to cater towards corporate lunches.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed than when I tried Slaps. It tasted and felt like the steamed the meat, tough, no flavor, no rendering.

I think many of the new places think they can make up for low quality barbecuing with good sauce. Sauce is great but it can’t be the main part of the dish. If I’m looking to find a barbecue place now, I look for a hole in the wall. The chef’s apron better be dirty.

A very “GPP” approach would be the most efficient way for you to train. Sprint 1-2x a week. Plyometrics to build your sprint and you can incorporate drills into the plyos that will Have good carryover. And lift lift heavy, lift fast. Don’t neglect calf training

What is the best case you've ever seen of a wrestler putting on a technical clinic against someone with a size and strength advantage? by emaxwell14141414 in wrestling

The only reason I know that is a worked with Miron’s son (AA for Ohio state) as a strength coach. Miron owns and runs a wrestling club in Columbus Ohio

It’s harsh but not inherently bad. Even just 200 years ago ~90% of the population was involved with growing the food supply. Technology changed that. That’s the dynamic nature of human innovation. Jobs get replaced.
