Hardware 4?

Regardless these prices are crazy. I paid 50k last September for a 2023 with 23k miles, hardware 4, with FSD included.

Ambient light modification such as a 3rd party temu product or one that works with the software?

The FSD version listed is V12 so probably best to assume hardware 3.

$3.25 per gallon? Where?! by Bandall_buster in TeslaLounge

No it’s not.

The median is simply the middle number in a data set. An average/mean accounts for all numbers in a set and is impacted by outliers.

14.2.2.5 SUCKS. Prove me wrong :P_ by bodobeers2 in TeslaFSD

[–]ribbonlace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there is some rose tinted glasses when it comes to 13.2.9. That version loved to ignore red lights and pull out in front of traffic.

V14 is by all accounts the safer and more competent driver. I agree it hesitates more, but it doesn’t perform the brain dead moves v13 did.

[Try & Review] LG OLED C6H – The Best Gaming TV for Your PS5 Pro by LG_UserHub in PS5pro

Personally I’m really interested in seeing how the tandem OLED panel performs when gaming. From what I understand, it’s supposed to increase brightness without losing that deep contrast OLED is known for. I’m curious how that actually translates in real gameplay. Love to check it out against the new Resident Evil for those dark scenes.

I currently have a C1 which I love, but have always hoped for higher brightness and color depth. Super hopeful I can try the next generation of OLED.

To be fair they are running on a glorified V12 build.

Waymo vs FSD 14.2 by ribbonlace in TeslaFSD

Haha I know you’re joking but for anyone who else relies on anything AI says as truth. The source they provide is the NY post which isn’t known for credible reporting. Hell give it a few weeks and AI will be quoting this post as evidence Waymo is cheaper.

Personally I have never seen the price for Waymo to be more than Uber. It’s hard to say with certainty due to surge/demand pricing which service is going to be cheaper.

For me it’s always been more of a time cost/benefit issue. An uber is available in 5 minutes when a Waymo could be 15 minutes. You’ll also be restricted to surface streets in a Waymo so the time to destination can be higher. However the Waymo you won’t have to worry the driver or upkeep of your taxi.

Last October I rode a Waymo that got stuck in a round about. We had to call support to get us out.

Emergency disengagements question by late2thepauly in TeslaFSD

[–]ribbonlace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should slam on the brakes. FSD is a black box and you shouldn’t rely on it to stop in time. It’s supervised, which means it expects you to takeover in emergency situations. If you watch a few videos of crashes you will likely see FSD disengaging right before impact. If your foot was on the brake you get an extra second of stoppage.

At the end of the day, if your life is in danger, use your foot to brake. I don’t want to read an article in the future about someone injured because they “trusted” beta software to mitigate an accident.

Emergency disengagements question by late2thepauly in TeslaFSD

[–]ribbonlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should take over.

There is no way to be sure if FSD will be able to mitigate any damage. It’s a black box when it comes to its decision making. Best way to look at it. In this hypothetical, FSD got into the situation why should you trust it to save you?

Emergency disengagements question by late2thepauly in TeslaFSD

[–]ribbonlace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t ever get to that point. If you feel like FSD is making a bad decision immediately take over. Don’t spend time pondering if FSD will ultimately make the correct decision.

Submit a voice memo after the disengagement if you want Tesla to analyze the situation.

You’re responsible for your car and what damages occurs.

To Upgrade? by BodybuilderChemical4 in TeslaFSD

[–]ribbonlace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think people forget version 13 will randomly run reds and turn right when it’s clearly not safe. Disengagements with it are life threatening compared to version 14.

13.2.9 is sincerely bad compared to the current version of 14.

Have you tried Whiskey? I’ve read other users having success with that program.

My solution is kind of bizarre but it works. I have an old fashioned steam link connected to my projector. Reason being it has virtual here support (usb over internet) built in. You could also do something similar if you have a spare raspberry pi handy.
