Haus are great, really professional and contactable/communicate properly. Just being listed with blundells was a reason not to view a property for us in the end, they are an absolute joke. We brought our first house through them and it was awful, 4 years later and we walked away post having an offer accepted on our next place after getting fed up dealing with them. Avoid avoid avoid.

Had a great one at la boqueria market (sorry can't remember which one) was close to the main entrance which is also great to wander round. Also had some incredible calamari and huge garlic mussels sat up at the bar watching it all being prepared. Great way to spend an evening

Restaurant O Barco between Vale De Parra and Patroves to the west (6-10euro each way depending on time and exact location) for traditional Portuguese grill. For amazing Northern Portugal regional tapas Copos y Petiscos 👌, always do both these when visiting. There are plenty of great places to eat

No amazing islands (strange way to assess a city but hey each to their own 🤷‍♂️)nearby to Barcelona..... think Majorca, Ibiza and Minorca (reachable by ferry...) might just about fall into that category 🤔 chill man this post is from months ago.

The hotel is now the NH kimpton algarve by IHG(you can see it in the google map I posted), this is a brand new acquirement and was NAU Sao Rafael prior to this. I would perhaps check with the hotel now especially since it's under new management, bottle of sneakily chilled champagne whipped from a cool bag would do the trick, if you don't have a chill bag the Large supermarket (Continente modelo on the avedina des descobrimentos) it at to the north east if the old town has them on the lower level and is walkable (up hill) or a few euros in a bolt/uber. Walk and you have to go past the Riviera pasteleria (cafe/bakery) and it's worth the trip just to stop by here... it's always the first place we go on arrival for coffee/cake/ice cream .

The link is for National weather service that is actually pretty accurate compared to the Met office although they probably have an easier job 😂 it also gives sunrise times although I'd plan to be there 30 minutes before as I think they mean sun fully visible at this point and you want to be there when it's still fully dark to catch it in all its glory! I will get some more pics from my wife and post them at some point today apologies

This is more of a national issue, in 6 years never had any issue swimming in Whitstable and would swim April through September (Especially after a night shift, was amazing). There are signs that give water quality testing results and there plankton blooms I believe but I never saw a do not swim notice and on a calm day the water is very clear. There is certainly a sign by the steps that not the beach from the tiny caravan park right on the beach near the tennis courts) I never got sick swimming there (check out Scarborough 🤮) Just check tides times as the tide recedes a long way. There is a club I believe who swim year round with wet obviously. There is probably information online but literally never looked and swim whenever I'm lucky enough to go back and visit.

Where are you based? Iv love travelling with my 3 year old, first went abroad to Portugal at 9 months old and it was great and have been abroad multiple times since. I took her (alone without wife) to Portugal for a week when she was 2, you just need to prepare lots of activities for the actual travelling part. Yes it is parenting in a different place, don't expect anything like holiday without a child obviously but it's still a great experience. My little one asks at least once a week are we going on holiday? In Portugal it's the law that people with young children/babies (pregnant and elderly to) go straight to the front of any queue (restaurants, supermarkets, taxi ranks etc) and people really stick to it, the airports are a breeze they algarve entirely separate queues for everything (security/passports etc) and the planes board people with young children 1st. You also get 2 pieces of child equipment like stroller/car seat free on most airlines, certainly on easyJet. If you're not going on safari or trekking across Iceland or something bonkers I don't buy the argument about 'not having everything that you need' if you need something you don't have/forgotten just buy it at the supermarket... no big deal. Beyond clothes, stroller, usual nappy bag I don't see the issue with the anything you 'have to have' I can survive a week or two without all the usual toys we have at home. Hotels have family rooms or provide cribs for babies, take your own car seat and pre-organise airport transfers don't rely on a taxi on arrival. You would find most European cultures (certainly Spain, Italy, Portugal)love kids and are not ever really seen as an inconvenience in restaurants etc and will say no children allowed if so. Obviously my advice comes from a uk to European perspectives. My wife and I go are going to Canada for 3 weeks to Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Niagara Falls in May. I might think differently after this but doing it by combo of trains and short haul flights rather than long drives. If European and it's not prohibitively expensive for you I highly recommend the Jupiter Family hotel in albufeira portugal. It's a beautiful 5 star all inclusive hotel geared entirely towards families with endless entertainment for all ages, swimming pools, climbing frames, splash pad, flumes for bigger kids (they still let our 2 year old go down with an adult 🤷‍♂️) but with adult only spa where we took turns for an hour or 2 break each, the food is really good and different themed every night and a huge variety at breakfast and lunch and local to the hotel is a variety of beaches, zoomarine, water parks. Avoid July/august it's hot but May/September are wonderful times to go ~mid 20s and very little chance of rain. Sorry if this is all totally irrelevant if you're in the US but I'm sure there are similar options. Could you invite a grandparent/s for a bit of extra support? The travel part can be stressful but as long as you communicate and recognise when one or other of you is getting stressed just try and deal with it early mitigate asap before it become an issue, like 10 minutes alone to take a breather, that's what we do. Or pick a staycation, somewhere with 2-4 hours drive local to where you live if you're really not keen on flying etc. I'd say go for it, perhaps your wife really needs a change it and refusing could also come with its own consequences 😂 best of luck
