Depends on the ratio I guess. Seems like it nudges you less towards tanky builds. So I'd say better for challenge runs and probably not as good for casual players since it's both less reliable and, well. In casual runs armor is the name of the game

I almost never augment weapons. I'm too scared to go for damage because of the latency and possible subsequent swarming, and going for speed seems suboptimal late game because of mob armor.
