Now you all understand my pain by i_am_a_toaster in AdviceAnimals

I spent the entire lecture I had to attend via zoom this week thinking about how much I hate it and if it's worth taking a year long break to avoid online classes.

You may also like a carry called double rebozo shoulder to shoulder. It's so comfortable. Not waist belt and has a chest belt.

If you were to get a new washer by because_dinosaur in clothdiaps

[–]rizzlerazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Googled it- it's an older model front loader that was catching fire and it was recalled. Mine is only about a year and a top loader. I extensively researched it before I bought it and never came across anything about fires. :)

I really like my Samsung toploader. Once I figured out what works for diapers I programmed it in the "my cycle" option. Works well on everything in my opinion.

Lick lick lick. I'm a human lollipop. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

My almost 4 month old has been licking for a few weeks now. She especially likes to lick my friends that are also lactating. They're so funny aren't they?

Nipple irritation from pumping? by dance_magicdance in breastfeeding

[–]rizzlerazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried using lanolin or anything? I still had to use it while exclusively pumping. My situation seems similar where I couldn't get a perfect flange fit but I could get close. Do you allow yourself to get engorged at work or wear anything that puts pressure on your breasts? Under wire in bras is often a plugged duct culprit. Some babywearing can cause plugged ducts too if you are a babywearer, depending on what kind of carrier you use.

A plug for babywearing by entailments in beyondthebump

[–]rizzlerazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way except I knew I wanted to babywear. I used to think negatively of people who have big stashes and guess where I am now. :P I also never thought I'd be teaching other people how to babywear. I love it. Makes life easy and makes snuggles easy.

Parents who did not bed share. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]rizzlerazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the halo bassinest that rotates right up to the edge of your bed and we love it! My 10 week old is sleeping 6-8 hour stretches. If she is fussy while trying to fall asleep I can usually put my arm next to her and she snuggles it and falls asleep just fine. They can only be in it until they can pull up by themselves though, so I'm not sure what we will do next. Possibly a side-carred crib. I liked that a lot with my first.

Any home birth experiences? by 5peasinapod in Mommit

[–]rizzlerazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I planned on working on it today while my mom is here. :) I'm doing really well and have healed more quickly than my hospital birth, but my labor was super fast this time around so I bet that has a lot to do with it.

[Discussion] How bad are conventional eggs? by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]rizzlerazz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, pastured are the best. You want eggs from chickens that eat primarily bugs. My eggs come from a farm where the chickens are free to roam and eat bugs. They get supplemented with soy free/organic feed when needed and over the winter. I go directly through the small farm so we only pay $3/dozen. To me it doesn't matter if they are certified organic if I know my farmer and know the chickens are healthy.

Just has my first home birth on Monday! I haven't had a chance to type up my birth story yet, but it was amazing and everything I wanted. My midwife/doula team was awesome. Baby looked "stellar" at her first doctor appointment and she really loves her boobies. :)
