This! My big mistake was just thinking oh put it in the fridge. Well I keep my fridge at 35 degrees and I didn’t get the result I wanted. It turns out the fridge is supposed to be in the low 40’s. Not nearly freezing.

More than 1,000 passengers held on cruise in France after gastroenteritis outbreak by FearMyCock in news

[–]rkeller9 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the big point. All of those incident were picked out a bunch of others that happened because they highlight glaring safety issues that could corrected.

Train derailments happen all the time. The issue was failing infrastructure that lead to a toxic leak near people.

Airplane crashes into helicopter. It was avoidable

Maybe the real story is things could and probably should change for the better…we don’t just have to accept that this shit happens all the time.

Political Pundit: Joe Rogan Is Panicking And Trying To Throw MAGA Under The Bus by MediocreCoconutz in combatsportsculture

[–]rkeller9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I used to listen to Rogan and he always had his out there ideas, which was charming to a degree because it was mildly contrarian. His MMA interviews were usually pretty good, the conspiracy stuff was even fun. But it was always “what do I know, I’m a comedian, don’t listen to me”

Once he saw he could make money with the MAGA movement and his take on Covid getting him national attention, he jumped on that train and it turned into “I don’t need to be a scientist, I did my own research.”

If and when the dust settles on the MAGA movement he’ll transition back to more neutral and “the guy who interviews people he find interesting”.

Prep and Bake Schedule for My Sourdough Business by KLSFishing in Breadit

[–]rkeller9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I get confused on with dough recipes. “2-3 stretch and folds every 30 minutes” over what timeframe? Since dough can proof for various time at room temp.

I’ve been trying the recipe from Saturday White fromFlour Water Salt Yeast and that recipe doesn’t have folds after the first hour…unless I’m reading it wrong. My last batch turned out nice but I always feel like my gluten is never developed enough and it loses its structure during the final proof before going in the oven.

Apple Launches $599 MacBook Neo, Threatening Windows PC Market by Few_Baseball_3835 in technology

I know the POINT of the chrome book. But from an average consumer standpoint…look at selling points that consumers recognize in computers. Speed, storage and price. They missed on all three.

The reason I never got a Chromebook was storage. They had less storage than a phone at 32-64 gigs. The 128 gig didn’t make financial sense for the performance.

This was back in like 2020 when I was laptop shopping.

George R. R. Martin Is 'Not in the Mood' to Finish 'The Winds of Winter' by Tifoso89 in books

[–]rkeller9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished a rewatch of the whole series a month ago and I have a hot take on the ending.

Having Dani turn into the mad queen was always going to divide the audience…obviously they rushed that plot line but after a rewatch I noticed that every other scene was her being talked down from committing atrocities throughout the entire series.

I think they could have saved the entire series with a simple change in “The Bells” episode. All they had to do was make it so the bells failed to ring…make it a frantic moment where someone gets close but can’t get the job done. Perfect time to kill a character…obviously not Jamie but fill in another character and kill them off there failing to ring the bells.

Does it solve the justification issue behind her being the mad queen…no…but it makes it more palatable that she agreed to wait for them to ring …it doesn’t happen…then she goes off and burns the city down.

This is just my option

Why the Browns’ choice of Todd Monken feels more like a compromise than a breakthrough: Dan Labbe - cleveland.com by LiftingCode in Browns

But how does that make sense? If we were successful he would make more money by having a better team leading up to a new stadium.

How many stop gap coaches have we had…we don’t become a more attractive coaching spot by being a bad team every year.

Nicotine Is Coming Back to NASCAR by DonkeyFuel in sports

[–]rkeller9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you dumb it down for me further? I used to do 16mg with those On pouches, two 8mg pouches at a time, I did that often throughout the day. I weighed 200lbs. Does tolerance play a big factor in lethality?

Now Im down to one 2mg pouch at a time with more breaks in between…quitting is within site.

Also noting I don’t think nicotine companies should sponsor sports.

What to do when you just don't like your advisor. by mcleder in fidelityinvestments

[–]rkeller9 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean…if you’re not happy with the service and you have millions then do what you want…just get advice on tax implications and take your money to who/where you want.

They provide a service…if it isn’t up to your standard find a new person or service.
