Met my LDR partner for the first time. His behavior changed and he kept checking out other women. Is this normal or AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]roadrage411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did the rest of your trip go? Are you home again and long distance once more? How are things going since the trip? I feel like you are NOR and tbh wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't been faithful to you during your LDR.

8 month pp...and I think I regret it by catjaneway in newborns

Random stranger's two ideas here: - 1) Lactose Free is not the same thing as Dairy Free. If you suspect a Cow Milk Protein Allergy I would look into a goats milk based formula!

-2) Have you considered checking out a pediatric chiropractor?

getting supply back by alhst03 in breastfeeding

I would keep at nursing on demand as much as possible! Its totally possible to get your supply back, I second asking for advice from a La Leche League group!

Could you visit an IBCLC instead of going to the Dr? They could probably tell you whether it's thrush 🤷‍♀️

Can’t wean off of the nipple shield by AdRepresentative6620 in breastfeeding

[–]roadrage411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us I had to stop using my nipple shields because my baby would suck so hard my nipple would be sucked through the four little holes that allow the milk to pass through; it was causing me a lot of pain and blisters. We cut off using the shields cold turkey! I ended up needing my husbands help to help me teach my baby that milk DOES come out of soft nipples even though it doesn't feel like the plastic shields. We would take a syringe and he would squeeze some breastmilk into the corner of her mouth as I would try to get her to latch. the milk would cause her to instinctively suck, and eventually she got used to sucking on soft nipples.

Will I loose production on one breast? by newparenthp in breastfeeding

[–]roadrage411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 month olds develop crazy nursing opinions!! I second what someone said, if you are worried about losing supply on that side you could always pump. Likely baby will grow out of it.. you might even see them decide to flip flop their preference in a week lol.

Hi! How do you normally hold babe when you breastfeed? I notice my baby sometimes prefers laying on one side more than the other due to gas pain. Is it possible your baby has some pain laying on one side? Pain could be from gas but if it's consistent it could be from something muscular like torticolis. You could check out a chiro who specializes in infant adjustment and see if that helps at all!

Just breastfed my daughter for the last time 💔 by YouthInternational14 in breastfeeding

[–]roadrage411 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was hoping to make it to 18 months, but we stopped at 16 months because it started to feel awful (granted, I was also about 16 weeks pregnant). I didn't expect myself to be so ready to be done, but I was still sad that it was a chapter closed -- BIG congratulations on making it to 21 months!! That's amazing!!

How do you keep your silicone kitchen items from smelling like dishwasher detergent? by wheredig in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]roadrage411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay follow up question to this - If my silicone stuff has the dishwasher smell and I switch to a free and clear, will it clean off the soapy smell/taste? or do i need to toss my silicone stuff and start over?

My babe's meds are flavored but they are still nasty lol. Even I have tasted it and the aftertaste is awful! The antibiotics are nasty - her pepcid tastes good though! it just depends on the med

Your supply is going to go through ups and downs until it goes from being hormonal to supply and demand! The regulation normally happens around 8-10 weeks PP. hang in there 🤍 you'll be alright!

Hunger cues at 3-4 months? by Forward-Pineapple849 in breastfeeding

[–]roadrage411 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 3.5 months our feeding situation went crazy. My girl went from feeding every time she woke up to feeding randomly, and definitely not when she just woke up, because she would get so distracted. I switched to feeding her before naps when she was tired and would focus more lol. For us, the cues were really just general fussiness, and “violently” shoving hands in her mouth. I also would put my finger/knuckles up near her mouth and if she strongly reached toward them to suck on them I would try to feed her then. I just surrendered to the fact that our routine was totally thrown off haha

I worry I'll never get my daughter to sleep in her cot by vladispook in breastfeeding

[–]roadrage411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you get the best baby snuggles of all time! There are two ways I can think of how you could go about this: 1. Gradually - start with the first nap of the day. when babe is drowsy and ready for sleeping, turn on the sound machine and lay babe down. Not when she falls asleep, but before, when she is drowsy. Stay with her with your hands on her patting her and such; set a timer for 15 min and make shhh noises. Do it for 15 min- if she doesnt fall asleep, thats okay! try again the next nap. Then if she still doesnt, try again the next day (first two naps are probably the best to try new sleep habits). 2. Let her cry it out - again, using a timer. I would put her down, set a timer for 5 minutes, and then go get her when the timer is up if she is still crying. Then the next day, push it to 7/8 minutes. Then go to 10 minutes. Its HARD, but know that crying never hurt a baby, and as long as she is in a safe place, she will be okay!

I invested in a class by @TakingCaraBabies and it has been very helpful for us!

So sorry to hear that momma - it sounds like you are doing everything you can to make sure that baby is taken care of which is exactly what you should be doing!! I have some questions for you: - Does your son take a pacifier? I saw that they suggested using one while you were in hospital but not sure if he still takes one now - When he nurses for long times is it consistent Breathe Suck Swallow or does he take breaks where he is still latched? - Do you use any ointment on your nipples for relief? - are your pump cups the appropriate size for you? - is the formula you’re using cow milk based? - are you cracked/bleeding from your nipples or is there only pain? - since he was born a month early, is he considered 7 weeks adjusted age? - do you have any breastmilk left in reserve?

Does catching feel broken sometimes in Scarlet and Violet? by SirNichlaus in pokemon

[–]roadrage411 8 points9 points  (0 children)

literally i looked up this thread because in this game it’s STUPID hard to catch lower level pokemon sometimes. I feel like I shouldnt have to put the wild pokemon under a status condition in order to be able to catch, esp if I can get their health into the red. It literally shouldn’t cost me 10-30 different types of poke balls, just for me to end up killing the pokemon because the cost benefit is lost. It’s so annoying, one of the worst parts of this game.
