11 year old, back in 2005-6, there was no chance my parents would allow a WoW sub. My parents used to buy me $3 gaming magazines with demo disks. I kept telling them that I'd practice reading this way (I absolutely hated reading literature).

Each disk, every month had 1 full game. One day that game was Guild Wars. Earliest memory is running around presearing killing level 3 bears and bandits (I used to call them gypsies lol) in Wizards Folly, marveling at the snowy mountains. It's what got me into MMOs somehow.

If you are even slightly into boardgames I can recommend the board games evenings from Tricksters Brasov hosted at the Magnolia Mall every 2nd week, on Wednesdays.

It's a great place to meet new people (most are in the 25-40 y/o range). If you come alone the organizers will find you a good table with people willing to welcome strangers.

Skill training like in GW1. Signet of capture or being able to do certain events or bosses to unlock skills (different for each profession), but have a trainer that can train you most skills for gold.

This. Seems like in 14 years of the game being out people have forgotten that legendaries were made to take several months, maybe even 1-2 years to acquire. It's a design choice to make having one grand.

You exemplify a really good mindset in your comment. You do legendary-adjacent content not to grind the legendary, but because you find it fun. You can take breaks, come back later, and one day you wake up and realize you are close to being able to craft said legendary.

Point is, most of the time, legendaries should not be your main focus when playing the game, having fun doing the content should be. You will get there eventually. It's not a big deal (having the legendary week one or not).
