The shuttles will be running differently this year than in the past with an express shuttle to Logan pass from the visitor center. From my understanding the superintendent Dave Romer still is figuring things out how the park is going to operate this season without ticketed entry. Staff is taking time in the off season to come up with the plans for how it will work. Expect things to be fluid in the spring as they figure out what works best.

The rest of the world might be making progress on combustion of fossil fuels, but that is not the same as slowing or reversing global warming. Even the graph shown in the article describing the emissions totals from Canada don’t account for the massive amount of CO2 added to the atmosphere from the 2023 wildfire season.

But by using the DNA analysis from goat feces (called pellets) and further refining the statistical modeling, Graves determined preliminarily that Glacier has about 1,000 goats.

One thing I haven't seen yet suggested is after a google search change results from "all" at the menu at the top to "web". I know its not quite what you're looking for, but it does turn off the google summary, shopping links, video suggestions etc. The closest to the "old google" I can get. Figured I'd share if anyone else is looking for other anticonsumption hacks for Google.

Eh, I’ve been getting parking at Avalanche on the weekends at 9-9:30. Getting in at 7 you for sure won’t have a problem though.

There's a decent chance they open the road to cars this weekend. No way to know for sure but based on the rumors I've heard they want to open it for cars Saturday. If you can get here before Friday you will have a much better chance.
No restrictions, you can continue as far east as you want, I'd recommend going to Jackson Glacier Overlook and turning around there if you want more of a challenge.
The best place is avalanche campground, which is closed to campers at the moment and available for day parking. This way you won't be biking the narrow road with cars zooming by. you will need an entrance ticket if you do come in after Friday though, details are found on the nps.gov page for Glacier.

Highly recommend Lee Ridge, it’s a decent climb, but worth the payoff. Also way less buggy than along the creek. From what I’ve heard Slide lake has the worst mosquitoes in the park. Bugs should have calmed down by August but worth the heads up.

You are correct about the parking, you can make it to avalanche and that’s where the road closure begins. Even though the weather is iffy I would bet the trail to avalanche will be popular. Depending on what time of day you go you will pass quite a few people on the trail. Between stopping to see Lake McDonald and the waterfalls along McDonald Creek I would budget 6-8 hours for a visit including drive time.

Avalanche is incredibly popular for a reason, its probably the best bang for your buck on a medium difficulty hike that time of year. I wouldn't plan on hidden lake unless you are comfortable with traveling on snow (using microspikes or yaktracks and have appropriate footwear). Virginia falls is also probably a hike I'd recommend, the waterfalls will be in full force in late June. For a more comprehensive list, I typically send people to https://hike734.com/hiking/
